Im obsessed with square enix rpgs but i need to find some more as im getting rather bored.

I like square enix rpgs because they arent that anime-ish and i really dont like anime style rpgs. So any good suggestions?

Neverwinter Nights (+ expansions) is pretty good. If you're looking for a Japanese style RPG then try the Shadow Hearts series (2 and 3 are better than 1)

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic is an excellent RPG.

Nope!

Seconded, I forgot about this one. KOTOR2 is good aswell, but I would wait until the restoration mod has corrected the mess Lucas Arts forced the ending to become.

I played most of those already except jade empire.

I didnt like baldurs gate 2 because second edition Dungeons and dragons rules are lame.

Whats so funny? are you surprised people have different opinions on computer games?

Two of the reasons are: Random Battles and JRPG's are too linear.
Their are other more important reasons but I have said these before and you have already said you are obsessed with Square enix games so I doubt I would change your mind.

Linear doesnt mean bad. And they are all that linear it depends which game.

The gameplay and the system are top notch.

Whats wrong with random battles btw? They dont all have random battles. Final fantasy 12 wont either.

Jade Empire is coming out on the PC soonish IIRC.

Random battles are annoying and are just there to drag out the game, anyway I'll just quote what I said on a different forum

"Thats my problem with Final Fantasy it just seems Im a spectator at the important parts of the plot, as if my my job is to get the character from Cutscene A to Cutscene B.

I prefer RPGs that at least give the illusion of choice and that I'm influencing how the story progresses."

I forgot about Planescaper Torment which is another good RPG.

Well i like random battles... So each to his own i guess.

And i like the customization that is available in most final fantasies and the STORYLINE definitly.

I dont like RPGs without a good storyline usually is silly as that may be.

And being linear isnt really a problem or a concern of mine. But each to his own.

Final fantasy delivers what counts. Good gameplay, good storyline, and lots of fun.

And about the cutscene part.. You obviously havent played to many final fantasies because many of them dont have cut scenes at all. Only the ff10 and ff9 have tons of cutscenes really.

And i like cut scenes so each to his own i guess...

In fact, i was very disappointed to see they were moving away from random battles in ff12.

It worked in ff11 but i still think it will be ok for ff12.

Well if its non-linear usually there isnt much of an unknown storyline is there?

But it depends by what you mean by linear. Free to make your own choices on how to complete the game? Different endings?

If so many final fantasy games have those.

In fact did you know in almost every final fantasy one of the playable characters dies? And sometimes its preventable. (FF6 comes to mind)

Nope!

Well first of all you dont even get to talk to anyone and you have to be a good guy rather than an evil son of ***** which I like being its a nice change of pace.

Wow! A playable character dies! thats never happened in a game before .... in other RPG's you can kill the character yourself rather then have one you dont like tag along, like Jaheria in Baldurs Gate 2 too I ended up killing her a few times as you was soo annoying.

Well each to his own. But being totally free to do anything isnt really a priority for me or most console rpg fans.

Yes ive played baldurs gate 2 and neverwinter nights i liked neverwinter nights but i loathed the gameplay in baldurs gate 2.

Nope!
