I am at war with nearly everyone under democracy. I have a large air force and a small navy that I use to defend my continent. I am just kicking stuffing out of everything that comes near me with the new lethal bombardment bombers :goodjob:

Anyway, I was looking at my happiness because I was wondering if everyone was getting pissed because I was at war for so long. I was pleased to see that everyone was extreamly happy. I looked at the happy faces being generated and there were not enough to explain all the happiness. Is my winning the war causing this? I tried to search the forums, but it must be disabled.

Also, this new expansion is great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've never heard of this happening, but it would make for a cool concept--reverse war weariness! Not sure what gov it would apply to best, but what if your population became unhappy if you were not at war...? Just a random thought...

Negative war weariness- it's supposed to happen when old enmies declare war on you. Winning probably helps, though.

In an old game of civ3, I noticed several of my cities go into disorder the turn I got peace, when they were fine before. I think I was in Monarchy, but it might have been Despotism.

There are several factors involved. I'd check the War Academy for some info.

One thing I have noticed is that when you first go to war with an old enemy, I get a big boost in happiness. It does go away after a while, though.

Where did you find that info just out of curiousity?

CivFanatics. I read it in several placews. Probably in strategy articles and succession games.

Thanks!!!

I looked at most of the past threads and they seem to explain what happened. I was constantly destroying the incoming waves of frigates and galleons. They never got a chance to attack me, so I kept the negative war weariness the whole time.

Cool!!!!

Could you resume me why that was happening?

When you're at war with an 'arch' enemy, you'd get 'negative' war weariness (ww) or better: war happiness (wh) (note: wh could be eaten up immediatelly once a war starts when you had just a short period of peace with that enemy and accumulated a lot of wwp before).
When you then avoid collecting war weariness points (wwp), you could preserve that wh theoretically forever. Wh received from one civ will make 25% of every city's pop happy (while you would get other 25% portions happy from fighting other arch enemies).
Having 4 of such wars going on will make a pop 8 city 100% happy, as long as you avoid the fighting (resp. getting wwp).
Qitai, who had made a thread about such multible wh, stated that getting a war declaration from asking some civ out will 'create' such an arch enemy... now try to not fight and see the fireworks. Once a civ is regarded as arch enemy, any new war with them will let you get the negative ww level.
