Can you remove the score-bar in multiplayer?

When you are playing multiplayer civ 3 conquest, you have the scorebar which constantly tells you how the other players are doing? Is it possible to remove or hide this??? It takes the fun away from the game....

Should be able to click the dropdown thing to make it show only your score..
