Cannot advance in game

So this is my first game of Civ 5. I have tried to create a new religion but they have all been taken. Now i cannot advance as there is nothing i can do. I can't skip the turn, and i cant create a new religion, and i also dont have an autosave to load back to. Can anyone help?

What does your inability to found a religion have to do with being able to proceed with the game? Do you mean you have the Found a Religion prompt in the lower right corner of the screen, but when you click on it nothing happens, and you can't dismiss it to keep playing?

In any event, can you post a save file?
