Can't buy great people (great scientist, great engineer...) with enough faith, full Policy tree

My set up: (1) Community Patch Only (from Vox Populi 6-7-2 beta, date 8th June, 2021), difficulty Emperor, 12 civs, 24 city states, pangea plus large map.

Modern era, I couldn't buy great scientists, great engineers... with faith even though I have enough faith and full Tradition, Rationalism tree policy in my Holy city (and in all other cities for that matter). I don't have that option in my cities!

Was that a bug or Vox Populi gameplay? Please help me solve it. Thank you.

Oh man that's unfortunate but I think it's a bug. 1750 AD and you can see the great prophet but not the other great people doesn't look good. You should be seeing them even if you can't afford them. You should have had access as soon as you hit Industrial Age.

ya. I don't know if that was a bug or Vox Populi gameplay :))

I checked to buy great people from industrial era to modern era but I didn't see the options :cringe:

Well I was hoping someone would come along and tell me I'm wrong, but if it's game play it would be a brand new change.

And I think I can tell that you have the majority religion because you can see the great prophet. No... Unless there's a very recent change some things wrong.

I had a very strong religion because I managed to get "Desert folk lore" pantheon.

Wait a second. Are you saying you're only using the single community patch mod? Not the full seven for the full VP mod?
Yes, not full VP mod. I downloaded latest Vox Populi exe (6-7-2 beta) in Gazebo's topic. When I installed, I chose "Community Patch" only then later I only use it with Infoaddict mod.

I mean when playing BNW, I always can buy great people with faith. So this makes me really confused.

I think I get it now. Just installing the community patch does not add the VP gameplay changes. It just fixes any existing bugs and improves the AI or other such changes that do not change the vanilla gameplay.

You're going to make me have to look this up... Lol I could have swore that purchasing great people with faith was a feature introduced in VP. Hopefully a second opinion comes along lol

I haven't played vanilla Civ 5 in so long I simply can't remember how it works anymore

I have not played CIV5 for a long time. I just reinstall it and Commnity Patch. I think I used old version of Vox Populi (that's why I could buy great people before) but I don't remember.

I just check Wiki page. In BNW you cannot buy great scientist with faith. You are right.

If you've been out of the loop that long I highly recommend the stable version if you want to play a game to completion with full VP. Trust me that it will be "new to you" lol it's just far superior in countless ways than vanilla
