CANT GET FIRETUNER TO WORK PLEASE HELP!!!

I cant get the civ 6 firetuner to interact with civ 6. I start up firetuner and the game, load a game, and nothing comes up in the firetuner. nothing, just a blank screen. ive never ever used firetuner before even on civ 5. I could use a step by step on what to click, type, whatever it takes to make it work. I had an editor I downloaded from the internet but now when I try to use it to edit it crashes every single time. I could really use your help to get the firetuner to work. the civ 6 firetuner. thank you.

You need to enable the Tuner in Civ6 user options.

I did that. it says connected. but when I add panels they just come up blank.
