Can't play NC save.

The format of NC files is CIVBEYONDSWORDWSAVE, while normal saves are CIVBEYONDSWORDSAVE, and a consequence is i can't open them as a save file. what can i do? I also tried to copy them in the beyond the sword mod file and play them as a scenario, but that also didn't work.

You write that they are "CIVBEYONDSWORDWSAVE", are you missing a 'B'?
They should be CIVBEYONDSWORDWBSAVE.

Custom Scenario is for when you want to make changes to the scenario, like playing with huts using the huts/events file but turning off random events. The default option to pick is "Play a Scenario", since that avoids possible map spoilers.

That said if you do want to play NC maps with different custom rules enabled you do need to use Custom Scenario for that. Or directly edit the WB files, but the former is much more convenient.

I just click on the zip file, choose the save I want, and launch it right from there. I never bother to download anything.
