Can't save / load saved game to local disk

Hi,

I can't save / load saved game to local disk (C:\Users\.....\Documents\My Games\Beyond the Sword\Saves\single (I can save / load saved game to pendrive D:\).

I play Civilization IV (complete edition) BTS (3.19 patch) Caveman 2 Cosmos (v37). Mod is installed correctly in BTS mod folder (C:\....\2K Games\Firaxis Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 4 Complete\Beyond the Sword\Mods\Caveman2Cosmos).

My OS is W10 pro.

Plz help.

Make sure your save folder is not marked as read only, and that Civ4BeyondSword.exe is marked with "run as administrator".

I marked with "run as administrator" my Civ4BeyondSword.exe file. When i unmark read only box in properties of my saves folder, it returns with black square inside the properties box.

I still can't load / save game from default location. I have to save / load from pendrive :-/

Pretty strange.... Have you looked at the security tab in the properties for your save folder?

I have:
Administrators: Full Control
System: Full Control
Authenticated Users: Modify
Users ("Computer Name"\Users): Read & execute

Can you create/delete a file (save) in the directory? Alternatively, can you move a save into the directory? (I wonder if it's a general issue or specifically with the game)
A work around that might help is to change the save's path in the ini file to a working directory. While not the solution we want, it can still help you play the game.

Hi again,

The cause of the problem was the Polish letter in my Windows user account name. The game created a separate account with the character ' in place of Ł. The games were saved in a folder with a changed name. Thank you very much for your help. Regards.

That's a new one. Thanks for adding to the list of things to consider when troubleshooting a problem such as this. I couldn't offer much with this case unfortunately. I'd have never suggested to look for that.
