Captial Problems

okay i was playing as Rome and well i had a huge emprire and was at war with India and Zululand ( previously with Persia but made peace). i was right now a democracy.(yes during a war)

anyways while fighting i usually press F11 to see what i'm first in the Demograph. one time i was looking at the top 5 cities and 2 of my cities were there were i realised that Rome was not the Capital because their was no sign so i looked at my other city and saw it was the capital.

i dont know how this happened and why because last time i had checked Rome was still my captial and Antium the other city in the top 5 cities was not but after that Antium was.

now could someone tell me what the heck happened their please?

Not unusual...A lot of people are pretty good at war in democracy....

If Turner_727 is not correct, it could possibly be that you're allowing city governors to give build commands. If so, that city's governor built the palace. But, I don't really know if the governor is coded to build a palace on its own.

It occurs to me that if Rome was captured the palace would jump.....

Turner 727 i think your right but the problem was i built a Palace in Antium to lower corruption their and i thought you could have more than one Palace. man am i stupid and now my captial is Antium. well thanks everyone for the info because that was the first time a built a palace so i'm a newbie!

That's right, only one Palace. And has you found out, the palace is where your capital is.

Don't worry about it Blackbird, on my first civ game many years ago I started building the palace in ALL my cities until I look back at the ones I had already built it in and it wasn't there anymore... anyway on that game I had about 6 cities build palaces before I figured it out...
