First Citizen of Rome
The USS Colby was escorting the crippled freighter back to the United States when it saw the UFO arrive at Istanbul. The Colby captain in awe of the lights and sheer size of the ship forgot to order his Lt to mark the sighting in the ships log and radio in to fleet headquarters. Fortunatly for him his XO had already ordered the radioman to make the call. As the call went out the Colby was just sitting there in the water with the freighter watching the UFO.

*radio crackles then whines*
-This is the USS Colby, does anyone read?
-USS Colby, this is Commander Reed of COMLANTFLT. We read you over.
-We are reporting a sighting. It appears as if a UFO has appeared over Istanbul.
-Are you in Turkish waters?
-Yes, sir. We were just leaving when we saw the UFO.
-Go into International waters and moniter the UFO, keep us updated.
-Will do sir. This is the USS Colby signing out.
*radio crackles and whines*

The front doors of the Oval Office burst open surprising the Secret Service working there, the Secret Service grabbed their guns and aimed at the uninvited guest. President Langdonstill, talking with his secretary of Defense stood up and walked over to the guest and shook his hand, "Welcome General, what news do you bring that makes you scare my staff like this?" There were chuckles around the room.
"Sir, Mr. Secretary, we have reports of an unidentified flying object outside Istanbul."
The President looked around the room and said, "Allright follow me, both of you." Both men entered the presidents office and sat down. "Who sent this?" asked the president.
"The USS Colby, sir, an American destroyer near Turkey who is escorting our crippled freighter from the attacks last year."
"What are they doing now?"
"They have been ordered to maintain visual of the spacecraft and keep us updated on anything new."
The president got up and poured himself a glass of water, and motioned for his guests to so as well. After drinking his water he leaned foward and said, "Send the closest carrier fleet we have and get in touch with the Turkish government about working with them in attempting to contact them." The Secretary stood up and said, "Yes, sir Mr. President." He saluted and left. The President then turned to his General, "Who else knows about this?"
"The crew of the USS Colby, the Freighter Golden Rod, COMLANTFLT, and us three sir."
The president leaned back and said, "Allright this is our top prioritory. The people cannot know about this. It will be difficult as the Turkish media will definently be airing this over international airwaves. But we cannot allow a panic to set in."
The General nodded and said, "I will do what I can sir." He stood up and saluted then left. The President slumped into his chair and rubbed his forhead.
