Caveman 2 Cosmos

:wavey: Happy B-day SO. :) :hatsoff::bday:

It's really just a number. You can play past that point. All that number REALLY represents is the turn at which the time victory condition determines a winner. If you play without the time victory condition, it's meaningless. One thing you can also rest assured of is that the number of turns probably won't even make it to the latest stages of the game. Furthermore, the latest stages of the game are so out of balance and underdeveloped, the game wouldn't be all that fun then anyhow and usually, games are determined by other victory conditions long before that point. Even a Master victory condition may leave you wishing for an earlier Time end point the way the current late game structure is.

Fair enough, thanks for explaining all of that though!

I think I read somewhere that there was a way to destroy unwanted cities. I have searched for over 2 hours and can't find any information how. This is because an enemy city keeps going to me and not giving me the option to destroy it like other cities do. IT goes to me if I want it or not. I don't want it, it is in a bad spot and is killing my happiness and income.

Alt-A to bring up the sell building popup and the destroy city option is on that panel.
Thanks Tbird. I thought about asking you in a personal message because you have been helpful to me in the past under my old login. You ended up answering anyway.

You and Hydromancer are the two names that I remember as being so helpful.

I know this came up 1000 times, so sorry...

But I installed civ again on a new PC and checked out the SVN.
The game screen appears with no UI on it: No menu, no bug menu, no mini map, no unit action buttons etc.
That was a problem with the folder name, right?
I named the folder "Caveman 2 Cosmos", wasn't that the correct name?

Of course no, it shouldn't have any spaces in it.

Hi, I've been playing this mod for just a few months now, and absolutely love it. The detail and immersion it offers are epic!

That said, I have a few issues:

I'm currently playing the C2C Mod (Build version: 3.1.9.0 [128100]) -> Single Player -> Custom Scenario -> Large_Earth_Map_no_preset_Civs as Babylon and most of the animals walking around do not appear as animals but as knights. Their flag says animal, their stats are those of the said animal, I can capture them and use them, everything works, just not the graphics, unless I select them, then they turn into the correct animal.
This also occurs with various of my own (Babylonian) units, changing appearance when I select them:
Example1: My town watchmen look like some medieval spearmen (full helmet, mail coat, purple tabbard, large purple kite shield with my civ's emblem on it) until I select them and they look like the same thing that the 'pedia' shows (golden open helmet, golden breastplate, blue-and-white undergarments, golden oval tower shield).
Example2: My Druidic missionary looks like one if I select him, but looks like an Asatru missionary when not selected.
This is all quite immersion breaking and quite annoying. It'd be awesome if that could be fixed.

Also, with this scenario I had the option to turn on usable mountains, and so I did, but it doesn't work. None of my workers can enter mountain squares and in the city screen I can't work them.

Furthermore, my large map with 21 civs is very, very veeeery sloooooow. If I finish my turn, I can walk away, use the restroom, get a drink and do the next turn. I'm unsure what might be causing this but I've read something about graphics paging at the top of the site, and that it should be toggled on by default. I am unsure if it is on in my case and would very much like to know how exactly to toggle it. If this is possible could you describe the steps for me exactly how to achieve this? Absolutely love this mod but I can hardly play it if it slows down to a grinding crawl... Please help!

Thanks in advance!

My rig:
Intel Quad Core i5 - 4690K @ 3.50GHz
8 GB RAM
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970
Windows 10 Home (64bit)
Samsung SSD 850 EVO 250 GB harddrive
(please don't hesitate to ask if you need more info!)

P.S.: Any info on a potential C2C mod for Civ5?

Up your graphic settings to medium.

Even with the option, you still have to earn the tech or special unit capability to enter peak plots.

It's basically just a slow end turn due to all the features in the game.

The latest SVN version is the best and most recommended version so far.

Thanks for the ultra-quick response! Thanks for the graphics tip! Had everything on 'high' but somehow switching it back and forth between medium helped! Thanks on the Peaks-tip as well, will look into it!

Turning animations on in the graphics options is enough to get the correct unit images. With it off it only displays the "base graphical unit" that the unit was built from rather than the full unit graphics unless the unit is the active one. It saves some memory that way.

Hi, guys. Kudos to an inspiringly awesome mod.

I'm a returning player after a rather long layoff from C2C (I think the last version I seriously played was somewhere back in the early to mid 20's.) I have two questions but I haven't had time to browse the literally hundreds of posts in this or any other thread trying to find the answers; I'm hoping someone can help me out.

I've installed v37 and have a good game going, but I've recently become aware that the strongly suggested method is to use the SVN instead - I'm not too familiar with it but I get the basic concept that it allows mid-version updates and bugfixes. I'd rather not be left behind, so to speak.

Question 1: What process do I need to follow to replace standard v37 with the SVN?
Question 2: Will switching to the SVN break my current save and force me to start a new game?

This is probably basic stuff, and apologies in advance for not yet finding it. These threads can be a bit daunting to search for information. I'd appreciate it if someone could point me in the right direction.
