Caveman 2 Cosmos

Would love to try the new version but cannot get past this dreadful iLivid download manager. Everytime it tells me there is a message from Civilization Fanatics (which turns out to be empty) and then hangs up. I've now deleted it from my system. Can we have another route for download please - Alan

You are downloading it wrong. There is nothing but one file, which is not a program you run, if you do it right.

There are adds above and below the correct link that say nothing but "download".
Edit: actually they mostly say "premium download" and some say "regular download".

Do not click on the ads. They give you random junk that you do not need or want. If you click on the correct links (as I recall, I had to click on 2 before the download timer thing shows up, and then something like 10 seconds later the download stared) you will download nothing but a file called "Caveman2Cosmos v25.7z". No program, no download manager, nothing that tells you there are messages. Just that one file, which is a 7-zip compressed archive of the mod.

Is it supposed to take so much longer to do everything now?
I am playing on Eternal speed, but it is about half as progressive as the previous version I played version 23. I don't mind if it is supposed to, just as long as the AI is going at the same rate.
Just want to make sure it isn't something wrong with my civ.

Compared to V23, yes, things are slower. That is normal and to be expected.

Haven't managed to get too far yet...had to quit my last game when 3 elephants started roaming around killing all my scouts and clubmen/brutes. Am enjoying this a ton though, really loving the subdued animals and the sheer variety of stuff to build.

I am pretty sure he is talking about the turns in-between each turn, not the turn times:) Because they are waaay longer in-between turn now, so much so i had to go to Marathon, but currently am re-trying Snail, but, like he said the in-between turn times are a killer.

I have also noticed that the time in between turns is significantly longer in the new version.

Edit

Also wanted to give some feedback for the new version. First off, it's awesome but that's a given. Like I said above, turns are taking longer but that happens. The balance of the game speeds seem better now and it actually makes the amount of buildings better (;)@Hydro) to deal with. I have less buildings that I haven't built sitting in the options. I like the changes to the dining hall and stone tool maker and the addition of the birthing hut. Also the visionary quest and the other one that gives +1 :) and +1 :culture:, were those put in to offset unhappiness from crime? If so awesome, if not then in my opinion there is too much happiness in game. Also the AI combat seems better. I almost got wiped out early on because I wasn't expecting an AI attack that was competent! I like that war-wise the AI has gotten much better. Basically I'm very impressed with the AI updates. Thanks to all you modders!

Sorry I wasn't trying to be vague. I just mean in general. Even from the beginning. It just seems like it's taking longer than in V24. I'm using the same size map/civ amounts as usual also as I'm sure that affects it. Is that enough info strategy?

Is the promotion "silver tongue" supposed to do anything? I don't see a description.

Oh I wasn't talking about the speed it takes between turns. I was talking about research and buildings. What used to take 20 turns to research now takes 40. What used to take 40 turns to build now takes 100 (even with a bonus that cuts it in half ~ Village Hall with organized trait).
I don't mind this if it is supposed to be the case, just as long as the AI is dealing with long build and research times. I am still only at the start of the prehistoric era.

EDIT: This is the the same options, map (Planet Generator ~ Gigantic) and game speed I used for both versions 23 and 25. So for example, capturing fire takes 200 turns (600 hammers). Does this sound accurate?
Whoops sorry for the double post, pressed the wrong button. Haven't figured out how to delete my posts, if it is possible.

The actual speed of the game as it relates to computer speed is not too bad. The only major difference is that it is constantly delayed by my units being selected and unselected every few turns for whatever reason, but I can live with that. Something real cool that I am noticing, the first animals I saw were all native to Australia. So far, all of the animals near my city are from Australia or eastern Asia. Even the terrain around my city matches up to Australia. That might just be my game, but it is pretty cool though.

i b happy some one put up a different place to get this , i had gave up after 6 times gettin to 958 n it stoppin, not finshing, movin on , any plans to convert RoM_SmartMap.py to C2C ? the mod work as is with it just missing a few things

This is why people should use "standard" terms. The first one is WfOC, or waiting for other civilizations, the second is turn speed. The second is intentional, the first could use some work.
