Caveman 2 Cosmos

Not a glitch, but probably an overlooked consequence... 0 aircraft limits on cities would exist at such an early stage of the game due to no buildings offering any aircraft capacity. Huh... that's kinda funny actually. I wouldn't have thought about that until it was brought up like this either.

So I guess that means we need something to accompany the ornithopter that gives aircraft capacity (or if there's an override setting in the xml - the old hunter's hawk never seemed to have that problem?)

Maybe there should be an Aerodrome Clockpunk building which gives air capacity.

Give them some time please. With a new version out, people are spending much of their time playing, and the ModTeam is especially focused on bug-squashing, balancing, working out new features, and integrating them. (it's a huge game) I'm sure volcano's will be eventually balanced out (I'd rather have them in and working well.). [...]

Of course I will give the guys all the time they need. I was having an issue that was really effecting the gameplay. A volcano kept erupting at the same place, my 2nd largest city, despite the random seed being regenerated. Might just be my setup, or some quirk in the code. It just seemed best to remove them for the time being (from my own personal copy, I don't think it would be a good idea to upload it. If you have the skills, you can do it yourself if need be). As soon as the volcanoes are ironed out I will be the first in line to "turn em back on"... :D

Volcanoes have been addressed in the SVN versions but not in the Official v25. I use the SVN and I haven't had a volcano erupt in my cities for several test games. They still do erupt but it's generally in unexplored areas now.

This has not been resolved since there isn't a graphic for each building. Seeing that c2c has 2000+ buildings it would be to taxing on the system and everybody would probably recieve tons of MAFs. If you really think are all that important you should get civ 5

Alright well if your going to be a jerk about it I'll just uninstall and go back to A New Dawn. Don't care for the kitchen sink approach to modding anyways.

2000 buildings? What is the point of all that? That is clutter, pure and simple. I mean seriously, what is the point of including Geomodder's ethnic citystyles if your just going to have all these buildings with no graphics turn a city into an empty square.

Hey everyone. Haven't tried this mod since last fall. The main thing that turned me off was the fact that every building built created an empty "lot" on a city, making the cities ugly and bizarre looking.

The visual aspect of this game is possibly one of the most important things for me. I guess I'm just asking if that problem was resolved.

They don't create empty lots anymore. Back in January, we made a globaldefine that sets which buildings are displayed. By default, only wonders and city defenses are displayed in C2C, and all of the rest are generic houses. But there are no 'empty lots'. We did this in part due to your issue, partly due to some bad building graphics, and partly to avoid MAFs.

Sorry to disappoint. They are simply a sacrificable element in the face of everything we want to include for the sake of gameplay. That said, I've never been even 1% annoyed by any missing buildings. The cities don't seem to me to be inappropriate in terms of their graphics. I believe for the most part wonders are in place. I also think we had some bigger issues with this in the past than we do now. But I'm not sure. (EDIT: just read LS's post above... that seems to account for the perceived difference.)

Truth be told, the gameplay content is valued much higher than the graphics here but graphics are slowly and gradually improving some as some team members are developing more skill in that dept.

You can't please all of the people all of the time. Personally, I feel gameplay is more important as well.

Thank you Joseph, that is exact answer to my question :)

I saw the difference in v24 and got enough :crazyeye:

V24 was a very poor version, which had too many bugs and a rushed release. V25 has Viewports, balance, and stability, so I think you should try it.

Not trying to be mean but sometimes the truth is harsh. Also as is said it doesn't actually do that any more. Finally when i said you should play civ 5 it was not supposed to be mean just a suggestion

In v24 the research rate has been slowed down without cutting the production ability. That was the key issue. In result you have unit spamming - once you need to wait much longer for next techs, AI cities (and yours as well) don't have anything worth to produce, but units. So, I had 4-5 units in each of my cities while having below 0,5 ratio to EACH Civ, no matter what. I saw hords of archers just wandering across empires - without any aim and sense.

This is of course my point of view. I don't want to undermine excellent and hard work done by the modders. :)

Even that changed as testers started saying similar statements like yours about v24.

V25 or the SVN is what you Should be trying now.

Your feedback is always welcome.

Sorry GiuseppeIII I overeacted.

So that problem has been resolved? Thats all I was wondering about.

Gameplay is important, but graphics, the visual aspect of a game, I think that is important too.

So I read the grand feature of this mod will be a space map, will this be unlocked once you send things up into space?

1. Yes, that issue has been fixed.

2. Once Multi-Maps are added, yes, the new maps will be generated only once you gain the ability to access them.

Edit: :ninja: by ls612

The long range plan with the inclusion of multi-maps and viewports is that in the transition from Modern era to TransHuman the Lunar map will come into play 1st. Followed by the Mars Map and in the Galactic Era the Galaxy/Space map.

If you can make it into the TH Era now you will see that there is much work yet to do. Even more so for Galactic. But the Techs, Bldgs, and units are being worked on even now.

It will most likely be several versions yet before the maps will be ready.

Please try downloading again.

With 37,000 downloads I don't think it's the files problem. And it's a .rar file.

Thank you and Welcome to C2C. :)

Brand new to this mod, haven't played Civ4 in many years(want to get back into the flow of things before buying civ5), and holy crap there are a ton of options when starting a new game. any recommendations for a learner?

Take a look at favourite settings, a lot of them have descriptions on what each option does.
