Caveman 2 Cosmos

If your comment is polemic (meaning not argueing with facts), this may happen quite frequently.

What ways would that be?

I specified my suggestion to -50% for horses attacking cities with palisades and walls.
But generally all cities with positive defense values should have -50% for horses. While a damaged wall of a city that is bombarded down to like 34% may enable foot troops to enter the city more easily, this doesn't allow whole battalions of horses in formation to enter the breaches over meters of rocky rubble.

By the way, do you also disagree over the -50% city attack for tanks?
Don't think so.

The ancient and medieval streets were as narrow for horses as the modern streets are for tanks.

Actually I do for tanks because your view of streets and their widths is distorted. Same as your view over horses. You've restricted it to a specific time frames and world region for every one of your supposed arguments, Medieval Europe. Your view is rather myopic.

Plus why do you continually try to place words in my mouth for me? Don't make suppositions about my positions until you've seen me post it over a specific subject.

I think the wide boulevards which Paris and other big cities introduced. leveling old narrow quarters had also a military purpose, to be able to quell resistance easier.
Harder to barricade and easier to deploy dragoons in a cities.

The fact that it was not so easy before validates my request only further.

This "argument" is invalid, as horses in chinese cities or middle eastern cities would also have problems, those cities had the same narrow alleys.
Until, as stated above the boulevards were introduced to city planning.

Have you ever seen a film where Horsemen took the walls?

Blahblahblubb

Ah well, you know...

Quick Question, but what happened to the No barbarian option? Any help turning Barbs off would be appreciated.

At least I'm not alone. The barbs are connected to the animals and neanderthals. No barbs means none of those either right now. That's why there's no "No barbs" option.

I understand No barbs also mean no animals. I was hoping there was a simple option to turn them all off for a quicker Hot Seat game, rather than mess about killing a load of XML.

Maybe load normal BTS, change language to english and then load C2C.
Then change language to german in and look if same thing happens like before.

Are you using SVN version or v30?

I think our recent SVN version fixed some bugs with other languages.

I'm playing the english version, and it's v30, but it has been the same with earlier versions.

It's not gone completely. It can still be switched on by going into the xml - gameoptioninfos.xml in the Assets/XML/GameInfo file. Find the NO_BARBARIANS option and turn it from 0 to 1 in the default.

Hm - this is not very helpful.

It's just - I can't play it it all now after having played it quite a while...

If you're saying you're having trouble with running the game now, you may need to switch to viewports being on. This is just taking a guess. We need a lot more information from you as to what's going on to properly provide a solution (which we usually can.)

Weird problem:

When I load the mod (windows xp), in the first attempt it makes it to the initial main menu screen ("Single player"...) but the menu isn't displayed and apparently not functional - nothing seems to happen.

When I then crash it and load the mod a second time, it usually works and the main menu is displayed and functional.

Without making any changes, now even this doesn't work anymore. No matter how or how often I load the mod, I only see the start picture and no menu whatsoever.

Any suggestions?

Have you patched BtS to 3.19?

Also, is your win XP 32 or 64 bit, and how much RAM do you have?

I noticed the same bug where player 0 (First Player) in a hotseat team game can not set units to auto update or auto promote. It works for any other player. Last year this bug never existed but I have noticed it in the past few months. Was wondering if someone can look at that one when they have time.

How do I do that?

What is it you need to know?

There are known issues with the steam version, I think. Also, playing as administrator is suggested. Last but not least, the SVN version might have the fixes in already.

What usually helps is a start-from-the scratch new install as sometimes files you edited might have been messed up.

Is your original BTS in english as well?

I think it's a problem on your side rather than the file itself, so starting step by step reinstalling might take some time but also very well work (I would have avoided it as well, lazy as I am but I remember that one time when I had problems I couldn't solve this was exactly what helped me)

EDIT:
Oh, its a 32 bit system?
I know my old comp, 32 bit as well, refused to load C2C one fine day, yeah I only had 2 gig ram but I was a bit sad...

Have you set your 32bit XP to use 3GB via the 3GB switch? If not you need to do that. I think a link for the instructions is buried somewhere in the How To thread

So I am trying to take over a city with culture, its about 85% mine now. When the dialog asks if I accept them to join my civ, one of my cities switches to a new civilization. Has this been experienced before? The savegame is attached.

Hi, I would like to ask you to change the following in C2C: I am able to upgrade all types of ships in the cultural area of my enemy while waging war. I would like to ask to correct this, as far as I guess it might be only possible to upgrade ships only INSIDE my own cities with all the requirements met for more advanced ships, as for example Shipyard, metal ignots, Armories, Cannon yard (or whatever it is called correctly :) ). Please?

Thank you for the epic game you, developers, are giving to us, humble gamers :). .Good luck and be good!!!

I believe that is a "civics" option. Right now i cant remember which civic does this. Which civics do you have activated? (all you need to do is go into the settings area, and take a screenie.)

btw Welcome to CFC and trying this great mod, C2C!

I think one trait enables you to upgrade even if your unit is outside of your own territory.
