Caveman2Cosmos

Is there something I am missing? Or do you guys who play this mod just all have absolute supercomputers?

Any advice is appreciated!

I have an oldish computer that just had enough grunt to update to Win7. I am not getting any graphics problems now - well I can see that they are occurring (the screen flashes a bit) but it is not stopping the game at all. I did upgrade my graphics card.

I am playing Huge maps into the Industrial era. Since I am one of the modders I don't go beyond that at the moment because I am checking balance and stuff, not playing per se. I am getting a bit of lag in the late Ren to Modern eras. Much has been done to improve game turn times and reduce memory problems, I am not using the optional ones yet.

Advice: try the "view port" and "Minimise AI turn times" options. Both are in the BUG options (ctrl-alt-O) or the lady bug button on screen top left bit of the screen.

Sorry Strategyonly I'm new at this. The civs were Anasazi and Iroquois.

StrategyOnly wants you to ask about them in the threads you downloaded for two reasons

1) it keeps the problems with the civ so it is easy to see what problems exist and which have been fixed.

:mischief:2) his "score" goes up :mischief::lol:

Arghhh, just when I thought it was gonna work XD
I tried three times, one time it didn't even start up, second it got stuck and crashed, and the third I managed to look at the civs and see the pictures (oh, are you an EE player? :P) and then after loading the game...

BOOM!
Crashed.

Can anyone help me? I unzipped the file with 7zip in to the correct mods folder.
Edit: Nevermind, it's working. But how can I stop it from being unstable? :S
Edit2: -_- It keeps crashing... Memory couldn't be allocated, _-_.
Edit3: I can't even get a game now. It's just completely buggered up.
Edit4: I changed to the lowest graphics settings, then I changed them back. Now I'm getting this bloody error...
Failed to allocate video memory. Please try reducing your graphics settings. File:\main\Civilization4\SDKs\Gamebryo2_0\CoreLibs\NiDX9Renderer\NiDX9SourceTextureData.cpp, Line:321.

Does this work for Windows 7?

I am having exactly the same problems and have tried the same sorts of things. Playing on medium graphic, highest graphics, lowest graphics, whatever, nothing seems to work. I get the same sorts of crashes, sometimes on just trying to boot the game, sometimes on generating a new game, almost always if trying to load a game. I have gotten the same "failed to allocate video memory" at least once. Most of the time however, it just crashes with no error message at all.

I have a relatively new system (quad core, 8 gig ram) but have a relatively cheap graphics card bought only six months ago and am still running Vista.

I dropped $40. to re-purchase Civ4 complete (I already bought it once before), just so I could play this mod. Imagine my frustration. I've been trying to get this to work for the last eight hours.

a quick question sorry if this has been answered somewhere and I missed it.

If I build a wonder that gives a free building in every city, e.g. Strategic grain reserve that gives a free granary in every city and I have already built granaries in some cities will that wonder remove the maintenance for those buildings and will I get free granaries in cities I build later?

It does not remove the maintenance cost of existing granaries. All cities will get granaries including any you build later and you will still have to play maintenance on them. the person who came up with the idea of maintenance does not believe in economies of scale, which is why some similar buildings not only add the building maintenance but have their own maintenance on top. Some people have said that this makes those national wonders and guilds a waste of space.:mischief:

Hey, I wanted to know if you are going to convert all of your civs from Next Fantasy War to C2C?

I mean Star Wars and LOTR are already available for download. ;)

Sorry does anyone know where to find the mirror for downloading this mod? I installed Desura but didn't see an option to use a mirror.

Dont use desura, it messes things up, when the option comes up for mirroring use it.

Hi guys, i dont know if my question appeared in the topic or not, but... So i've seen on Darrinus LP on youtube that he had "flexible" names of empires (for example: City State of Brazil) and in my game i see only vanilla names like Japan Empire and so forth. Maybe im blind but i didnt found an option for the "dynamic" naming in BUG options menu for the mod. Can someone point me where is that feature? Or it is an additional file?

It's in the BUG Options.

Hey guys let that person complain, i am all about numbers, so the more that individual complains in THIS and our other forums, the BETTER:p

It ADD's up when CFC Admin looks at what a mod is doing and how often people respond, good or bad stuff, numbers doesnt say that, so HEY complain, yell and scream, do what you want, IT ALL ADDS UP with OUR numbers, YEAH!!!!:) kool:cool:

As they say in America, "This Bud is for You."

Also "A View, is a View, IS A VIEW!!!:goodjob:

thankfully Civ IV Complete is up for sale -75% discount, i've purchased it because my CD/DVD player is busted, but it felt good to pay again for a good game. Imma try your mod again, and see what's new. I wish mods are big and full of tons of sh*t added into it for Civ V but sadly, their is hardly any appealing mods out for that game besides Faerun and Call of Power.

How long does this usually take? It's been about 5 minutes and I'm still loading with no sign of the progress bar changing.
