Caveman2Cosmos

Caveman2Cosmos is the most developed (and largest) mod for Civ IV,
(more content than all others in Civfanatics combined and simply a Dream Team of modders pushing the limits of what Civ can do.)

Not True.
Gigapack still consists of the most wonders and projects :D

When C2C has more wonders and projects than this, then you can claim that statement is correct :mischief:

Also, I believe Civ Gold has more civs and leaders?

Not what i was referring to, i was given an infraction for going to a different posted thread than the mod i was making and just "Mentioned" my mod and poof got the infraction ON Christmas day no less:sad:

I agree with you, but i am catching up with them ;)

Does anyone know approximately how many turns is the Prehistoric Age?

This depends upon Game Speed selected. Iirc Eternity Speed has 14,000+ turns and there are 9 Eras to divide that up into.

All the Game Speeds # of turns for C2C have been extended beyond vanilla BtS GameSpeed lengths.

I know not a concrete answer. Sorry. :p

JosEPh :)

It is the number of turns it before you finish researching Sedentary Lifestyle.

This depends on game speed and what techs you research (and in what order) and how many different animals you subdue to use for the Myth type buildings and what resources are in your first city's BFC and probably several other things.

Ok thank you for your answers:) Can anyone imagine a win condition for surviving the Prehistoric age?

I'm going to create a "Cradle of Civilization pbem game that will start the players with several extra units and all bunched together. Safety in numbers, they must start their nomadic life with all they can carry and decide where they will eventually settle.

Playing into the Prehistoric age (as far as I have) yields you very little growth and gold reserves so I'm considering using an Earth map and telling everyone it's better to seek the riches far away, and to do that, they must survive and that won't be easy with the units provided.

So is the Prehistoric Age 50~100, 101~250, 251~400 or 401+ turns? on normal speed (provided normal is recommended for what I'm trying to do)

The slower game speeds is what C2C is best suited to. Based on what JosEPh said above Prehistoric should be around 11% of the number of turns in a full game.

In my current game (Marathon speed) I got out of the Prehistoric in turn 318 (of 3060). The tech leader was 2500 years ahead of me, but I don't know how many turns that is.

Most people seem to recommend slower speeds than Marathon for C2C, although I don't know how they can put up with it.

My last game was on Normal speed. My tech pace in that game (as at mid-Medieval) was 1000 years slower than my current one. That is to say, the techs I'm getting around 500BC in this game I got at 500AD in that one. But then I believe in taking the scenic route through the tech tree...

In C2C the so-called "Normal" speed is quite fast. The fastest speed I would recommend is Epic, and that is still pretty quick - many techs only take 1 or 2 turns to research.

I usually hit the Ancient Era by turn 150 at Epic speed, although it might be a bit later if the surroundings are poor in terrain, early resources, or animal variety.

I've found that v31 seems to load up much quicker than previous versions but now it CTD's all of the all time (after less than one hour of play, viewpoints doesn't help in this case it seems). I guess i'll be waiting for v32 in the future then.

A new patch/version is coming out soon. Some thing seems to have gone wrong when bundling v31 but we can't see what it was. :(

Oh no, should I revert back to v30 then or how long will it take for the patch Dancing?

I experienced a lot of CTDs too. Never happened With v30, so I reverted. Too bad, I liked the new features.

The Mod was crashing on me, I reinstalled Civ 4 and the Mod and it seems to be working ok.. That is why I asked Dancing.. ;)

EDIT: Okay I reached approx ( Prehistoric era start) 8800 BC, huge map, 11 civs, 11 land masses, CTD while I was researching Masonry and sadly I cant recover, it keeps CTD!

It seems a patch may be in order Dancing.. :(
