Hi Gilgamesch!

I played and helped on this mod previously as 3335d. Due to personal reasons I was absent for a long time and have decided to return under a screen name I use elsewhere. Mods, please delete that previous account; I am not trying to use it for sockpuppetry, I am just not using it at all right now.

I hope to begin work once again on this mod, to help it become the greatest Civ V mod ever!

I'm a reasonable programmer who hasn't got experience with modding before, but reasonably quick to learn. just give me some sort of direction, and i'll do my best to contribute. I'm not great with meeting deadlines, and i have quite extensive RL commitments right now, but i'll do my best to help!

Like i posted in another thread i got some troubles with modbudy.
I lost some progress ( some is good, hours, its the better word).

So i started from scretch again, this has good and bad abilities.

At the moment my time is realy spare, but i have done the biggest part already.

Need to eliminate some bugs and some other little problems also got my attention.

I can upload my modbuddy project, so that you can have a look at it.
But since i doesnt finished it yet, this should wait until iam ready.

Where i (we the community) need realy help are lua programming, and api knowledge.

Iam a autodidact (hope spelled right:crazyeye:) so my programming knowledge is limititated and i cant do a lot of things right now (dont got the time to read books about lua for example).

Will try to setup my work this weekend so that we might get a Alpha of 405 soon.
Then we can go from there and make priorities.


PS: Iam also not so good with keeping deadlines, but that doesnt matter here in this case since we all do it for free, the most people are very patience.
 
Sounds good to me! I'll wait until you have the alpha ready, and try to read up on lua and familiarize myself for the moment
 
I would offer myself for a helper position. I've modded mods to my own liking. To that end self taught at xml modding. Coding was what I wanted to do. Never really got into graphics.

I love the mod and want to see it succeed.
 
The main problem i got is, the current status of CCTP is CCTP Neo.

I decided after smashing my head against a wall, top start a new version.

This went good so far, my only problem is now every time i start the mod crashes and the loglist is full of problems that are already solved.

So digging files to find the bugs is very time intensive, but i cant upload the buggy version, because i have the feeling when to many heads work on it its got even more complicated for me to keep the overview.

But since i cant efford the needed time i have to overthink this at all.

If you need any help let me know, I am probably better at troubleshooting and finding problems than actually creating a new aspect as my time can be limited since I work, go to school, and have two kids, so I wouldn't know how quickly I could actually make anything. But I'm always glad to help.

Got some minor problems with finding double entries (building classes f.e.)
This is one of the oints that breaks the whole mod.

The techsystem is fine also the loop was removed time ago, but since there are some buggy entries this got priority.

What i have done so far is i cleanded the mod up, spltted as much catagories as i could in differnend parts. (jip endless hours where spended:lol:)

So that it will be much easier for us all, to understand the structure of this mod.

Also this helps massiv with perfomance and bughunting.

The most of the work was done weeks ago, so i must look if there where updates from whoward f.e. that must be merged together.

Another point is i need always time to get back to CCTP (:crazyeye:)

Also i started implenting content from alpha centaurie into the future era of CCTP.

There where so many changes, little and big changes done, that its hard for me to tell you what all has changed.

I know i sayed i will upload the my work, but didnt managed to get propper time so far.

But maybe the biggest part, is that i balanced the complete yieldsystem of buildings and wonders and adjusted the pricesystem for units, buildings and wonders to the timeline (techtreeline).

I noticed when I was trying to get this version working for people in the meantime the main issue with loading time related to manned space flight and maybe unmanned flight, but I couldn't figure out exactly why the was an issue. I had to remove a prerequisite, and then loading time was only a minute or two, Did you happen to find the problem, just curious what it was.

Not realy sure where it was, sure in the modern era, so long ago iam getting old:crazyeye:

But when i think about it there was also a spelling error (or wrong placed semicolon) something that brokes the lines and strangly created this long loading loop.
 
Some necro on this thread.

Currently we are working hard on CCTP 405 (Codename Neo).
We need help with icons for the multipage popups for the new eras.
Also we got so much code, that every helping hand will be very welcome.

On the other side we are collecting some fanatics for a development team of CCTP (all kind of stuff), that will take this project to the next level.

At least i have to say sorry for my lack on activity here, i was to busy and other things where more important in the last months.

But iam looking forward, that we can release Neo in 1-2 weeks.
Prohably2 weeks, you never know what happens, but you never know.

After some work and a lot of reading i finally managed to create full working icons for CCTP.

Anyway this means we dont need icon support, for sure if you would like to provide some awesome ones you are welcome.

For the next update of CCTP, what also should be the final version of CCTP 405, we really need someone who is willing to create a lot of pedia entries.

We need Pedia entries, for Units, Technologies and Buildings.

Any help is very welcome.:D
 
Ok where to start.

We are nearing a polished and heavy overworked version of CCTP.
The most work is done, but there are still a lot of parts that needs to be done.

What we need is;

*Someone who is willing to create some images for the Poliy Branches.

*Also someone who can help to write a lot of ingame pedia entries, in the most cases Technologies and Building/Wonders.
 
Have you considered using github or any versioning/covorking space for development?

There will be probably a huge bugfixing need upon release. (Not a complaint - I alreadz enjoz plazing the current plaztest version on the huge TSL Earth map :D I am in Classical Era flooded by bugs, but I love this game.)

I presume you do not want to fix all typos, inbalances yourself. And as of now it is kind of hard to share our own local fixes.

Well i have already a Github account, but for some reasons it wasnt compatible with my system.

So i didnt used it since the time of endless errors and :wallbash:

Maybe i try it again when iam more patience and have a more clear mind.

We have our whole sub forum for CCTP alone;)

There isnt any list that includes allmost every feature right now.

Its just to much and iam happy when i can manage some time for modding.
There is this thread with some infos and screenshots.

When you would like to help us, what is very welcome:D, i can send you tomorrow the files that needs a in game pedia entry.

F.E. we have a lot of techs/policies and buildings that have just a placeholder (upps) instead the correct info data.
