The part that in red is the one who needs the pedia text. Its always the same way, please be carefully and insert your entry always between the <Text><Text> tags.

If something is unclear because the name of the technology didnt tell you anything, then ether ignore it or just ask me.

Well... the first "upps" I found, was tech called "Naval Trading".. is that right?

Now I should write a brief text about what is Naval trading?

Yes this is correct.
You can just use any source you would like, i.e. just Copy and. paste.
Or you can write the complete entry by yourself.
This is your choice, just what you prefer.

i'm new on the forums and i think this is a great and beautiful job. I'll be really glad to help.
I don't have modding experience but i can work with 2D arts. I have a good experience with drawing programs.
Because english isn't my first language, i'm sorry for some language mistakes. If needed i can help with translation for portuguese(BR) and spanish.
 
I guess I will run into problems, but let's see. I am now on my 4th tech, 97 to go. :)

"Supply Managment" can mean so many things, what does it mean in this sense? Oh, and it is spelled wrong, it is supposed to be Supply ManagEment. Can I fix, if I find something like this, or is it going to screw things up?

2 more weeks and I can send PMs.. :smug:

I can of course collect a list of techs I do not comprehend and send that once, rather than asking each puzzling tech individually.

Oh, and my native tongue isn't English either, but I guess I can do close enough I hope..
 
Any spelling errors within <Text></Text> you can fix as this is the actual text seen in game. Spelling errors in the tags, types, etc. you should leave alone, as these link to other items, and all instances would need to be changed, or it would cause an error in game.

BTW, I wouldn't worry about English not being your native tongue. I currently live in the States, and people for whom the tongue is native absolutely slaughter the language, so I think you will be alright;).

Currently we need artwork for some policy branches, icons for some units and improvements (strategic view) and some icons for unit builds.

The other kind of icons are already done by myself;)

For translations, we havnt finished all text entries yet, and i need to warn you this a of a job, its just to much text at all.:lol:

As long its a spelling mistake and like Gyogen said within <Text></Text> its ok.
But otherwise, please leave it in its current state, it could cause issues and can cost me some time to fix it.

The term decs indicates its the description also known as pedia entry.

All changes just need within the both <Text>your text.</Text>.

If you try to use "TXT_KEY_TECH_MAXIMUS_HELP" in the your text, then it will just look like this.

The only way you can use icons in CiV is [ICON_HAPPINESS_1] for example.
 
I meant the text I wrote.. since in the real world there is not a technology called Maximus, so I had to make something up.

But on the other hand... the only thing I did, was to replace this "upps" with the text I wrote. I placed it exactly in the same place it was. There were no <Text>upps</Text>, only TXT_KEY_TECH_MAXIMUS_DESC upps TXT_KEY_TECH_MAXIMUS_HELP

I wonder which has caused the error.
Since I now downloaded the file again and copypasted what was there. It is as follows:

Its like i posted above, maybe you are working with a text editor or something.

But like i said, its all like it should.

If not leave it, otherwise i need to overwork your files, and then i can do it by myself....
 
yeah.. I was working with notepad.. :rolleyes: on the other hand, the file was opened with Safari.. that is where the mistake must have been.

But I have another solution/proposition: How about, if I just provide you the ready texts in word document? It is then far more easier for you to copy-paste everything, than go and google it or even write something on your own?

I really would like to help.

Just download the SDK for Civ.

Open the file i provide with SDK, alter it and then all is fine;=)

To copy and paste each of your altered pedia entries would take a lot of time.

Sorry but if i would have this time i could edit this files on my own.
