Looking for free, but good, burning software. I reformatted my computer, but couldn't find the factory-recovery disk, so I lost my Adaptec software (this really sucks).

I found some generic one on downloads.com, but it gives a cracking sound spike as it loads the new track (on the burned CD). Anyone know of a good one?

Thanks.

EDIT: Win98se OS

I'm sorry, I'm not on XP - I'm running Win98se.

Do a search on Tucows or Cnet - there is tons of shareware out there. Caution, some programs such as Alchohol 120% (which used to have a 30 daydemo available for download - not sure if it still does) will prevent your Civ game from loading - Atari has tried to prevent CD ripping.

So neither one of you has had any troubles with CD BurnerXP Pro? It seems too good to be true since its free, but ya'll are saying it's not?

Also, I have Windows XP so what do I need to get under the additional downloads section?
