I've been toying with these designs for a Celtic/Gaelic interface. I'm designing them for the Gallic wars scenario but I'm not even sure if we'll end up using them so I'll post them for anyone else who likes 'em.

I'm not very adept(yet!:D) with modding graphics so please comment and advise if there's something you notice. Thanks already due to Vuldacon, W.i.n.t.e.r. and Slyk for help/advice.
Talkoffer.pcx has been tested in game and looks fine but not the others.

Installation: In Civilization III/Art/Diplomacy back up your old talkoffer, consider and counter.(I usually create another folder called 'Original Diplo' and put the originals here.) Then open the zip file and drop the three files in your Diplomacy folder where the originals were.

I've addressed a matching problem I noticed while game testing. The icon graphix will now not move around when switching between screens.

I do have a suggestion that would embellish/improve a little more. Apply 16 Million Colors to the Images you will be using to copy and paste. Make the background Pure White (255, 255, 255). Enlarge the Images very large, Use the Freehand Tool and Trace around the inside Edges of the Images then still holding down your Mouse Button, move a distance outside the same edges and trace around again, ending at the line where you first exited the inside edge tracing. Use Soften and or Blur...you can also use Sharpen on any of the inside wood with symnol areas as you like. Play around with this and it will eliminate the "Pasted Object" look by softening the edges. All will appear more 3D and realistic. Apply the palette when finished and change the White Background to Magenta. Check the look in Game.

Cheers again. I tried what you suggested and I like the result so far. I'll have to wait to see how it looks in game.

Most of the time it is the combination of "minor details" that collectively make Graphics Fantastic or ordinary...detail work does require more time, such as enlarging Hugh and perfecting by the pixel where needed. The micro and macro work together with creative time spent have a profound impact on the finished Graphics. The way I "see" it, all things are made up of "little things" that when placed together provide what is thought to be one thing. IF the "little things" are all improved toward the collective end, the end result is improved. This is evident when we see something absolutely remarkable and do not immediately see why...we "see" the end result of the details that provide the over all impression and impact.
I like what you are doing and especially just starting out. There are many Gifted, Creative people around the Forum and no doubt, they all enjoy what they do. "Work" becomes Fun or a pleasure and that is what promotes creativity and the energy to accomplish the details for Great things. Keep having Fun...it shows. :)

Apologies for the lack of SS's. I just got my rebuilt pc back so I'll have them tmrw. Thanks for the feedback guys. Makes the work double worth it!

I've reworked some of the edges which I wasn't happy with and they're uploaded today(04/08/2005). I also have alternate up & down arrow graphics which you can see in the screenshot which is in post#2.

Nice Job on your work.

Nice work. These look perfect for the Mystara mod. I'll be adding them in. Are you still tinkering or are they completely ready for installing. I won't be adding them till I start the expansion pack for my mod so I don't want to be confused if I download one version and then not get the most updated one.

Thank you all. It's really great that you like them. I couldn't have hoped for a better response and am honoured for them to be included in any work my fellow forum members are involved in.
As far as I know, these will be the final versions for at least the immediate future.

Thanks then Traianus, I will then download them and plan for their inclusion into the Mystara mod. I'll have to add you to the credits. Great job!
