Celtica And It's Destiny

This is a very good story. It's well written, except for a few grammar errors.

I give it 4 smileys out of 5

:) :) :) :) :( .

Darn, Das and Silver oudn it......we just have to hope this doesn't end up being a religion......Daftpanzer's fine as a religion, because he teaches peace.....But if this becomes a religion, the population of Earth will end up being halved.

And that's a bad thing?

"Violence IS the answer!"

The Iroqouis Captain strode through the camp. The bonfires were black and smoked in the early moring, the sun poked it's head above the trees but it was hard to see strong light. Instead there was a thick fog that made averything damp but was eerily beautiful. The Captain had to admit, though this land was inhabited by barbarians, the hun of Earth, who invaded Inca more than a hundred years ago, had it's beauty. Maybe after the conquest was done he would move here, this Celtica. He signaled to another man to replace the sentry and throw down more picquets. The soldier silently ran off through the thick woods as the Captain bent down to play cards with the other officers.

"move with me and keep quiet" Vercingetorix wispered to his men as they snuck up on the Iroqouis sentry. He lead this group just as eight more were sneaking up on other sentries all over the wood.

"Draw swords" The quiet mettalic echo of swords being unsheathed exilerated Vercingetorix. He would make these Red Skins pay for invading Celtica even if he gave his own life to do so. He signalled to his men to move through this small thicket of bush.

"Crawl, you bastards" he wispered angrily.

"Aye" His men replied

He watched silently as the sentry changed and a new warrior took his place. He moved behind a tree, with his back facing the bark and slowly looked out from the side at the sentry simultaineously drawing his small thick throwing blade.

"Here you go you bastard" but then it all went wrong, one of the pipers accidentally dropped the pipe and it gave out a loud weezing sound.

"damn!" Vercingetorix cursed. The sentry turned tail and ran, screaming some incomprehensible language.

"follow him, Lads!" He yelled drawing his long straight sword. His men Yelled in Gaelic and charged from the wood, pipes wailing in the morning dew and swords drawn, ready to be bloody.

They caught up with him quickly and Vercingetorix brought his sword in a downward motion onto the Iroqouis' bare back. He heard the crunch as the the good Gallish metal slamed into the man's spinal cord. Bloody sprayed back to Vercingetorix's face, he wiped it away from his mouth and eyes and called to his men to run straight into the enemy camp. They reached it and slamed into the unready defenders. The pipes signalled to the other companies to do likewise and attack the camp. Soon the Celts were deep in the camp and slaughtering the Red Skins. Vercingetorix lead five men into a large war tent, some of these Red's were still putting cloth on there bare skin and pulling there swords out. Vercingetorix put all of them to the sword in a blind rage. The rest of the Iroqouis in the camp were rounded up and disemboweled. The Battle of the Silk Wood was over.

(the World in the late Iroqouis-Celt war)

The war had progressed slowly since the opening conflicts. Although we had gained ground in the North from the Iroqouis the south was still engulfed in battle. This little bay area was the obvious central theatre of the War and a huge strategic advantage to any one who held it and right now, thank god, it was us. This theatre was controlled by two main comand basses controled by either sides. One was the celtic port of Connacht (formerly Lugdunum) the other was the Iroqouain military base of Caughnawaga (founded on the former site of Corihuayrachima). We had managed to turn the tide and press most of our troops toward Caughnawaga. The battles around that region were some of the bloodiest the world had seen. But we stiil had not yet entered the city.

And so we aproched the Germans to help us punish the Iroqouis and after intense nagotiation and a few less bucks, they agreed to help us. And the load on the gulf was lifted. It was around this time that our ships began to bring settlers across the ocean. We soon founded a new city on a small island in the south ocean this would be a new point of naval conrtol in this area.

(PORT GAEL!)

Back home our gallic swordsmen had been given new armor and weapons. The Mace, an Iron ball connected to a chain with grisly spikes on it was the weapon of choice to these 'medeival infantry'. With thses new shock troops we attacked again at Caughnawaga this time we won.

In the Capitol great celebrations were held and the streets were extatic. It signalled the beginning of the End for the Iroqouian Empire and the War. Most citizens in Celtica thought that the war would be over and a peace agreement would be hammered out soon. But this didn't happen, just as many people talked of peace and the end to troop movements, Celtic forces moved on another Iroqouian city, Allgheny. The fact was that the Iroqouis had tried for peace many times but the Celts would not agree to peace. Then later in the year celtic warriors ambushed iroqouis workers near allegheny and enslaved them. Finally the Celts thought they had gained enough.

But Germany, Celtica's ally refused to sign peace and so germany and Iroqouis bcontinued to battle it out. The Celts watched with delight as both there enemies destroyed one another

It was in this period of peace that Celtica chose to upgrade it's military. It was obvious to everyone that we would soon go to war with another great power on the continent, but this time we were going to be ready. Spearmen were given new iron armor and extremly long spears called 'pikes' while the remaining gallic swordsmen were upgraded to Medeival infantry.

Celtica got wind somehow, that the Iroqouis had marched of to war against the tiny nation of Holland. The Dutch had always been our allies in war and in peace, we could not see our friends anihilated by this evil empire. The whole kingdom took a sigh and marched off once again.

(opening campaign)

This time WE caught the Iroqouis unawares. Our troops merely marched into Allegheny. At this victory the Dutch came to us with a proposition of a Rite of Passage. We agreed to the terms laid down by this tiny, friendly nation. The king, Brennus thought that maybe the Dutch should be brought up technologically, for they were still in the ancient ages. And so we gave them many secrets of science and military, bringing them up to modern standards.

Finally it seemed the Iroqouis had had enoug hand effectivelly made peace with all its hostile nations including Celtica. The thought now was what to do with Allegheny, we didnt have much use for it, but we didnt want to give it back to the Iroqouis for they were still stronger than any other nation on the home continent save celtica. So we looked to the Inca who we had mistreated in the past. We gave the Kingdom of Peru Allegheny in compensation for a hundred years of theft, rape and murder. The lines were re-drawn.

(the New world)

And so the begginning of the Middle ages had come and gone in it's bloody way. The old continent now saw two superpowers, Celtica and The Iroqouian Empire. Celtica was gaining as many allies as possible. Peru and Germany would probably follow Celtica to War but would Portugal, Holland, Spain? Only time would tell.
