CFC Model UN - Security Council Simulation

Bulgaria pleads mightily before the mighty Russia for an alliance...

PS: If neither munzy nor Insurgent get here in another day, I say we just give Puglover their country. Sound good?

I agree with that. Its all up to Toasty though. They've had a couple of days, if they're not in soon, we can get 2 more players and they'll fill the spot. I don't want this to die! :)

Plus, I already have my whole angle on this thing planned out...it wasn't too hard to find, being the most populated nation in the world! :D I know Russia is right by my side in this...:D

I fully agree. If munzy and insurgent don't show up soon, their nations will be made avaliable.

España está presente.

Hey, I never got a PM back that I was accepted into the game. I guess I need to subscribe to this thread! :)

Thanks for the PM cgannon64.

The more important thing is to represent our country's policy and what they would propose and vote for, not any native stuff.

Do we have to do anything in the language native to our country (I dont speak portugese)

 no, the official language of the CFC UN is English :).

If Jason is not going to take the open spot, I will take it. This looks very interesting. I believe the open spot is Chile right?

Yes, very well, we may start. We will wait another 12 hours for the Chilean representative, Insurgent, to show up, but will move on to the speaking list.

DO NOT POST FROM THIS POINT UNLESS YOU HAVE BEEN ALLOWED TO DO SO BY BEING ON THE SPEAKING LIST OR HAVING A RIGHT OF REPLY.

The chair recognizes the esteemed delegate from China as the first speaker.

Sorry, but I have a question:

It's a rotating speaker's list, right? So...wouldn't it be most logical to start from Mexico and work down the list?

(Good that I'm up first, because I'm going on vacation until Wednesday! Well, I'll get this done before I leave. Now, back into character...)

While Iraq has occupied the international scope of foreign affairs for some time, my homeland of China and esteemed friend Russia have been working on the North Korean problem while the rest of the world watched the United States invade Iraq. Behind the scenes, we have been working with North Korea to end the diplomatic standoff that reached a climax when North Korea re-opened its nuclear reactor. As a result of our round-the-clock work, North Korea has agreed to reopen talks to the UN and the United States regarding its nuclear program.

Because of this new and bright sign of progress, it is the opinion of the delegate of China and of the Chinese government itself that North Korea's sovereignty is respected and no weapons inspectors enter the country. China will be willing to reconsider, however, if the diplomatic talks between North Korea, the United Nations, and the United States fail. However, it is our utmost desire that they are successful.

(Out of character: Toasty, can you only propose a resolution when it is your right to speak? Or can you do it at anytime? Because I'm thinking of making a resolution but I'm going on vacation...I guess I could have one of the other supporters of the resolution propose it, no?)

EDIT: Toasty check your PMs.

You can propose a resolution at any time, but you have to have 3 sponsors when you do so.

When I recieve a resolution, I will put it up in the thread and then put it under resolutions on the front page.

Toasty, check your PMs. I sent you the resolution just to see if its good - I don't have any supporters yet. Oh, and sorry to post out of order, but I want you to see. :p

Thank you, Chairman. Opening this statement on a positive note, I would like to report that I have conferred with the Chinese delegate regarding a resolution on this subject. This resolution may be posted presently.

It is the position of Bulgaria that nuclear weapons, while very effective deterrent are very dangerous to world peace, especially when kept secret. To this end we will support a non-voting North Korean delegate to come here to clarify the extent of their reopening of nuclear facilities. If the UN is not satisfied with the clarification, we propose tougher regulation and perhaps facility inspections. Thank you, and good day.

(OOC: Toasty, are you going to post the resolution, or should I? Also, what are we going to do about Chile, it's been over 12 hours and Insurgent's still not here.)
