Showed up where? At Sarmi? Lots and lots of troopies. Actually, the British guy complained that next time he would prefer it if I chose a city he did not go to all the trouble of getting so many troops too...

Yeah Sarmi :scan: . 'complained' :goodjob:

Turn 5

April, 1942

Well, we decided to bomb the US mainland anyways since the Americans went out and attacked our fleet. We were unable to cut their rubber but did blow apart their oil, so hopefully they will have troubles hooking up a pipeline to Texas. We sank an American destroyer that had attacked our grand fleet.

We captured an unmanned Ningsia from the Chinese this turn. One of our bombers was shot down near Kunming. Other bombers did great damage to the Chinese infrastructure.

On the Dutch front we attacked the infantry that was near Menado and captured the artillery it was on. We also sent the Elite SNLF Marines to attack Tenate. Led by their Great General Yam****o, they wiped out the infantry unit defending the city (although there is still a flak unit there) and were promoted to the highest honor in Japanese code. Yama****o will be brought back to Japan to form an elite army group (or something).

We used the captured Dutch artillery to shell a Commonwealth machinegun unit next to Donggala. We also destroyed a bomber group in Singapore with bombers (although we lost a bomber group to AA fire). We used artillery to redline most of the units outside of Rangoon and attacked the light tank and killed it.

Victory points before the fighting this turn were Japanese 19220, Allies 3470

I now have the capacity to build medium tanks and will go for a medium tank army to try to wipe out China. I am also tearing up the infrastructure to prevent the Chinese from being able to draft and produce units. I have cut their rubber, the Commonwealth rubber and much (or all, I’m not sure) of the Dutch rubber. I have also cut the American oil.

Now it is a waiting game in the Pacific and a speed game in China.

You might have slowed down a bit, only 2 cities :p

But with medium tank armies I sure believe China can become "red" !
The Poly team does not seem so proud of the results.... !

.... and WHO dared vote Poly in the poll ? Step forward and be shot !!!

This was the Chinese turn response:

pathetically little bombardment is all we have to report. China resumes cowering behind our women and children.

I will send the save to Eric to get some screen shots

That Japanese General name is kind of familiar to me!

Anyway, I am glad to see you are succeeding and honoring the japanese empire! :goodjob:

Sorry, wrong guy. That was a famous admiral. The editor won't print Yamaschito's correct spelling.

For those looking... that tank army will be 100% on my coming turn! It is going to rock and roll! Meanwhile... all those Commonwealth inf just north of Rangoon got redlined and can not escape... :)

My thanks to Eric for posting the shot...

Love the bombing of the northwest U.S. :goodjob: . I do that in my games
as Japan also ;) :mischief: , puts a hurting on America!

Paddy the Scot has apparently been out of town on business selling 'poddy calves', he will return shortly and the game will commence again.

This turn was bloodier for our Imperial forces than we would have liked, but our troops have continued their winning ways. Fierce artillery bombardments of the Commonwealth and Chinese positions culminated in attacks on Hankow and the Dead Marshes, just north of Rangoon. Hankow saw the destruction of one of our combat engineers and numerous Nipponese infantry, but in the end, we were victorious in destroying all defenders and capturing the city. In the dead marshes, our artillery shelled everything down to 1 hp and then we send elite Nipponese soldiers to try to train up a great general—to no avail. The first Nip unit was destroyed and the second only succeeded in killing a unit. We then moved our tank army in for the kill and destroyed all remaining Commonwealth resistance. The tank army captured one artillery which was then used to bombard the lone (I assume) flak guarding Mandalay. Remaining mainland forces were used to tear apart Chinese infrastructure.

Out at sea, our bombers disconnected American beavers, since we happened to feel sorry for these poor, endangered animals. :D Our glorious marines captured Batavia and Tenate, sweeping away all resistance. We bombed Singapore, destroying an interceptor in the air and a bomber on the ground.

VP’s Before/After turn
Japan: 20880/23740
Allies: 4325/4580

My Destroyer invasion fleet is now 7 squares from Hilo and 5 from Honolulu. I have many combat ships around Midway…so I hope that the ruse will work. :mischief:

I have transferred all my bombers (except for 2) from the carrier fleet to Japan (on their way to China). The fleet is heading west as fast as possible with hopes that the claims of the USA are just bluster… :cringe:

I have 16,260 victory points to go. I have medium tanks coming in and have transferred my great leader (via airlift) to mainland China. I will finish the military academy next turn, so that will improve the strike capability of my armies (and one of those armies will be medium tanks). I have most of a rail network hooked up from north to south on the mainland due to the capture of Hankow. With the addition of the extra bombers, things are looking up for the potential capture of China.

I have cut my research to 10%, since I don’t really care about heavy bombers and would rather use the cash to rush things. My cities are going for high food out put for a few turns and I just began war mobilization.

The Commonwealth dropped a machinegunner on the island next to Rabaul. I don’t really know what that means. Meanwhile, I have airstrips all over the place and will be getting more soon, now I just need to make guys who can use them.
