C3C PBEM : "Yap" - WWII pacific scenario PBEM (level : newbees)

China report.

Chinese forces overwhelm Nanning destroying 13 units and killing 1 fighter while capturing the city. In the ensuing blitzkrieg, Hanoi, Kiungchow and Pnom Penn are captured undefended. Hue is captured killing one defender. Canton is captured killing 1 defender and 7 planes. 4 units are killed near Beijing. 3 Chinese medium tanks are destroyed in the attack. Japan's Manchurian adventure is quickly coming to an end. Get the soap ready!

Well ... my first multi-pbem game ... is over ... I enjoyed it very much ...

Thoughts about the experience ... I enjoyed the being on a team element ... the behind game play e-mailing of tactics and frantic cries for help ... was a bit overwhelmed with the straight away smack and gore of units blooded and cities lost ... but it was my first as mentioned so I think I'd get used to it ...

Thoughts about the scenario ... Don't know if I really like this scenario ... I feel that Japan misses out from the team element and AFAIK USA and Dutch hardly even got into the game ...

I have enjoyed the interaction with all 5 of you guys Gnarfflinger, Howitis (Hope RL sorts itself out), Spartaca, Magzi (for filling in) and John_J_Sheridan (brilliant and brave effort with Japan) ... also LouLong for setting the game up ...

Would I like to play again ... YES ... but I'd be into playing a game where ... either the teams are already locked ... or where there are no teams but an option to form alliances ... or even a fantasy game like MoM or WH ... or even to test a new mod (where fault reporting and gameplay improvement suggestions would be integral to the game)

Oh and I've enjoyed the posting element ... so I'll leave you with this quirky celebration to personal or even personnel travel ca. 1944 Burma ... as I am no longer a pbem virgin

Yeah it was enjoyable. Pity Spartaca was so damned effective....would've been a more interesting game if China hadn't slaughtered me before USA and Holland could wind up.

Good Game.

I was just getting my Marines loaded into a Transport.

I was the veteran on the team. I was the Dutch in the last game I played too. Basically, if we can co-ordinate what we're doing, then we'll trash the Japanese more often than not.

For a real challenge, pair off and take on the kamikazee mod. Basically one player was the Japs and the other is the allies, and at the same time you play a second game with the roles reversed. That's a real test of generalship.

Thanks allies for sending me all that money and the tech advances. It was touch and go for quite a while whether China would survive Japan's fierce attacks. Your helped saved the day. Good game Sheraton. You put up a worthy fight.

Normally it was (for most of you anyway) your first PBEM. I am glad it could reach a real ending ! And I must say you usually did a pretty good job : the game kept rolling, you found easily a replacement and you kept the thread funny and interesting for lurkers. Thumbs Up !

Sure this scenario is not always perfect for PBEMs (lack of balance or of action for some (USA especially). But it was meant as a short introduction and I think it played its role ok (As long as you had fun and enjoyed the "process" it sure did). Hope to see you stick around and organize your own games now, replace players who dropped or take part in new PBEMs.
