Would you like cheat menu built into the game? Just like in Civ2?

makes it easier for sinario makers and people wanting to test stuff out

*or lazy people*

Yeah, leave it.

Especially for people like me who when they have a bad day at work turn on the cheat menu, build a hundred nukes off the enemy's coast, and nuke every city to unwind.

...Good Times...

I agree with Fishheads...it does come in use when testing.

But hopefully the scenario maker in Civ 3 will be much more evolved than the "cheat menu" scenario creator of Civ 2.

But it will greatly help out scenario testers. So I'm for it.

I would like to se them take away the chea menu and replace it with a good senario maker.

Throw in both, cheat menus are fun soetimes.
And a good scenario creator is a must.

I agree with BlueMonday. If something outrageous happens, like my only musketeer guarding a big city got taken out by a horsemen, I just switch on the cheat menu and obliterate the world.

The game will always contain cheats, so they might as well be integrated in the menu. Your score will tell that you're a CHEATER! anyway...

Kill all of them! That is a sure way.

I don't think a cheat option is needed. If they are going to put it in I think the only times you can use it is after you have already one the game, or for creating scenarios. If you need the cheat to win the game you shouldn't be playing.

The cheat menu is a good thing. Its great for
1.Having some fun (love those nukes as they say)
2.Making senarios
3.Testing things out

Without the cheat menu the world might cease to exist, so i wouldnt try taking it out of the game.

I think the cheat menu should have the option of taking back a turn. Just think of all those times you accidentally hit enter before you finished and then said,"Darn, I forgot to put a unit in that city!" and then it gets taken.

The cheat menu is cool, they should leave it. A choice is always better than being locked in...although I do agree that there should be a good scenario maker integrated as well.

That's A good Idea but don't put it in a cheat menu! You You're score! ANd that for only 1 turn back!
Let's say it reduce you're score! not that it is like cheating!

It should go back one MOVE, maybe, not an entire turn. For those times you accidentally hit the wrong arrow key and leave your howitzer stranded on a mountain next to the city you were going to attack from the railroad. Of course, this would open up all sorts of opportunities for cheating, so maybe not such a good idea. Maybe a limit on how often you can do it in a game?

That would be a great idead. It would be quite simple to implement it in the game: just add an 'undo'-button with a max of 5 uses. This way you don't have to reload a saved game to undo your mistakes. Also it should not be possible to undo an action if it provided some valuable information you couldn't have known before (instead the game should ask you beforehand, as it did in civ 2: do you really want to attack this city and break your peace treaty?)
