Is it just me or are these two almost the same?

Chichen Itza:
+50% Golden Age length
Reduces religious unrest
+1 GE :c5greatperson:
+1 :c5culture:

Taj Mahal:
Starts GA, +:c5goldenage:
Reduces religious unrest
+2 :c5culture:

They are also quite close to each other in the tech tree.

I am not saying that this is bad, I just observed it.

Taj Mahal is a one-shot boost while Chicken Pizza is a more long term thing.

Taz Myshaul recently got buffed and now provides GAP/turn based on your population now as well. All in all I'd say it is probably better.

As I said, there is nothing wrong with it, I just noticed.
What irks me more is that golden ages are so weak.
In CIV III you had one per game (and sometimes not even that) and it was extremely powerful.
CIV IV gave you more, but weaker.
And now they are all over the place, and I think they don`t really matter.
Again, nothing that needs to be changed by CP, just ranting here.

I think they matter more than you give them credit to. They provide a moderate boost to a plethora of things, and they're especially good to help out with sustaining a war.

If you're going to put so little value on Golden Ages, then you can't put much value into, say, Great Works either - they're much less significant. You can only firmly argue that they're more important if you were to get them really early in the game.

There are a ton of things in the CBP that activate during golden ages.
