Choices and Chances

How would you go about attacking alongside an ally into the same province? Would you have to manually say whose troops not to attack?

As mentioned, you would coordinate in orders PMs, to establish you're jointly attacking and not backstabbing each other.

The Transcendent Domain of the Oracular Council

upload_2018-1-6_22-34-35.png

Discovered in the Polish countryside following the Great Calamity, the first high oracle became known for unerring accurate prophecy, and she soon grew a cult following of devoted attendees, headed by the interpreters of the oracle's words. What transformed this movement into a significant power was the oracle's assumption of Spring regalia and the declaration of the location of the oracle of Summer. Upon the meeting of the two oracles, prophecy came at an increasing rate, and the oracles appear to have ceased eating or sleeping. Soon after, access to the oracles grew increasingly restricted, with prophecy being channeled almost entirely through the high council.

Schools of Magic
A summarised introduction by Wa'iz Adham, wizard courtier of the Magi Imperial Court

Alchemy: a magic of transmuting and enhancement that can range from the creation of mystical potions to creations of mythical blades and the construction of golems.

Arcane: magic at its most pure, often witness in the 'fire' of the jin or genies, as well as the 'elemental' properties of a portal. The magic tends to be unstable, often mixing what is refereed to as "chaos magic" (usage at its most naked) and "order magic" (usage under strict directive) which tend to be more philosophies of using magic rather than sub-schools of the arcane.

Death: manipulation the forces of death, often linked with dark magic though light powered death magic users are not unheard of. Essentially death magic is the path of necromancy, with the ability to commune, raise and command the undead.

Demonic: like eldrich demonic magic is a linkage of other magic schools through the prism of demonic power. Master requires a understanding of demonic channelling, often invoking communions with demonic beings to acquire their knowledge, a practice with prices. Despite the natures of this magic it is quite opposed to eldrich to a point that makes the binaries between light and dark magics appear at peace.

Divine: refers to the twin schools of dark and light magic. Both twins are regarded individual as among the powerful forms of magic but both schools to attract a binary hostility among user among each. Those who master both dark and light magic are among the more powerful users of magic. Users tend to link with death and life magic. The beings refereed to as "angels" tend to have mastery of either one or both of the sub-schools.

Eldrich: nicknamed "cosmic" by those who wish to not fully reference to its origins, it is referred as the "twisted parody of divine magic." Edrich magic is the realm of the eldrich abominations known as the Dark Gods. The magic tends to channel to other schools in a more twisted form. Users of this magic tend to face accelerated mutations and a rather cosmic form of insanity. The magic has also been known to forge powerful forms of psionics, though the results tend to break down the realities of the dominion it is used in.

Elemental: a collections of magic schools, each set to the five elements; in much of the realms these are air, earth, fire, water and aether. Magic users can also follow a alternative form of elemental magic based on metal, wood, water, fire and earth. For each set of five most users of elemental magic tend to specialise in one or two, though there are who have mastered all.

Life: a magic school can manipulates life forces, with tendencies ranging from the mending of the body through healing to the ability to command the beasts of nature through the magic of the fae. Body magic is often a nickname granted to this school due to the ability to enhance the natures of the body. This school is often linked with either a divine sub-school of magic or (for the Fae) elemental powers, though it is also founded among those who strive for both power of the body and (through psionics) the mind.

Psionic: essentially mind magic; a unusual magic that does not have any linkage to arcane considerations, with a power of manipulation that seems to follow more the physical conditions of the user's mental capabilities as of itself rather than a mastery of embodiment of a magic power source. Seen in the likes of astral protection, psychokinesis and telepathy, the latter if mastered can enable one to essentially control the minds of others through will alone. Due to the nature of this school of magic it tends to not be a subject of warlocks, though wizards have been attempting to channel arcane energies to create a alternative form of psionics.

The Emperor looked upon the map made by his new Bureau Of Barbarians. He looked over it and smiled. The map itself was not of the greatest quality, but the fact that they managed to gather the information at all proved the ability of the Bureau to gather information. He sent Alexios Doukas his paycheck and gazed upon the map.

(OOC:Yes, I went through all that effort to make a map of the current political situation (You're welcome), but note that there is some bias on the map for RP purposes. Also, "Adiko" is "Terra Incognita" in Greek.)

CONFEDERACY OF INDEPENDENT SYSTEMS

Short Hand: The Confederacy, Separatists
Capital: Raxus Secundus (de jure), Atlanta (de facto)

Research Bonus: Mobility (Even if we're stuck on this forceforsaken rock, our once mastery of the stars means at least we can deal with the interference better than the natives of this planet)
Claims:

History:

The Confederacy of Independent Systems was originally formed in 24 BBY, as a response to the growing decadence of the Galactic Republic. Humans and aliens of the Outer Rim were infuriated by the growing bureaucracy of the Republic, which favored the wealthy Inner Core over the rest of the galaxy. A former Jedi Master by the name of Count Dooku lit the edges of the galaxy aflame with firery condemnations against the corruption of the Republic, and dreams of a better society where all of the galaxy were truly equal. The Count quickly became the leading figurehead of a secession movement in the galaxy, coalescing both populist rage and the backing of corporatist interests who wished to see the end of the Republic for their own personal business opportunities.

Unbeknownst to all but a few, the former Jedi was actually in league with the sitting Chancellor, Palpatine, as Darth Tyranus and Sidious, respectfully. The Confederacy was never meant to win; merely bloody the Republic enough so that the two could enact meaningful reform and bring true justice to the galaxy (including the destruction of the reactionary Jedi Order which impeded progress). That is why Dooku was willing to surrond himself with questionable figures; it was all an elaborate ruse to bring out the worst of the galactic corporate underbelly so they could be taken out as traitors, while Dooku himself was pardoned. It was a masterful plan that should had worked.

However, one day while engaged in a campaign against the clone armies of the Republic, Dooku had a vision from the force. He forsaw that his master, Darth Sidious, planned on betraying him for Anakin Skywalker, a young Jedi Knight whom he saw as more malleable and controllable than the old Jedi Master. The vision was completely unmistakable; if he continued his current path, he was going to die at Anakin's blade in an elaborate trap. This simply could not do.

Meditating on this vision, along with talking with his second in command, General Grevious, Dooku begun formulating a plan in order to overthrow his master and make sure the Confederacy actually wins the war. The source of the vision, he felt, was extragalactical in nature. It was a message from beyond even the Unknown Systems, alarming him to a whole new galaxy. He could feel the presense of humans and other strange species he never encountered on this planet, which reminded him of his home in Serenno.

When Sidious told Dooku to kill his apprentence, Asajj Ventress, over fears of Dooku planning on overthrowing him, he knew this was the point of no return. He wasn't going to betray Asajj; he was going to end the charade once and for all. Dooku ignited his lightsaber, ready to fight Sidious. His master was surprised, but no less willing to duel his apprentice in turn. However, it became clear that Dooku was no match for Sidious, and he became worn out by the duel. With no other option left, Dooku called on the vision of the force he had.

A resounding wave of energy flowed out of Dooku, spreading a shockwave that visited every system. When all said was done, Dooku, along with those that he trusted in his vision of a better Confederacy, along with an impressive cache of battle droids, found themselves transported onto the planet of his visions. With no spacecraft (and planet interference which prevented from going to space), they were now stuck on this rock. But, they were free from Sidious, free from the Trade Federation and the corrupt Council, all there was was Dooku and the very people he was fighting for the entire time. This brave new world is where Dooku would make his stand, and create a new Confederacy.

Of course, the natives (who were mostly humans) of the local area were particularly interested in the idea of the Confederacy. Their "wizards", as what Dooku persumed their force-using cult called themselves, said they had a Confederacy that they formed a few hundred years ago against a corrupt Republic, and while they ultimately lost, they were interested in reforming said Confederacy. At first, Dooku was amused, but it quickly evaporated to disgust when he found out the particulars of their Confederacy. After hearing it was nothing but an excuse to enslave non-white humans, he decided the world was better off without them, and he culled the "wizards" to the last. No room for their xenophobic ilk when his best friend and his apprentice were both aliens.

Heroes:

Count Dooku

A former Jedi Master turned Sith Lord turned non-affiliated Force user, Count Dooku is a complex man with a complex background. What is known about the man for Serenno is that his flirtation with the Dark Side was to try to build a better galaxy, but his eventual confrontation of the Sith Lord made him grew disillussioned with the Sith's interpetation of the force. Will he return to the ways of the Jedi? Will he try to find his own meaning to the force? No one knows, but for now, his main priority is setting up the Confederacy he truely wishes to see

General Grievous

Originally known as Qymaen jai Sheelal, General Grievous is a cybernetic Kaleesh from the planet Kalee. He was a friend to Dooku and the military genius of the Separatist Army, leading stunning victories in his campaign in the Inner Rim. When Dooku confided with Sidious's planned betrayal, Grevious pledged his support to the Count, given the bond the two shared on the battlefield. Even on this new planet, he remains the leader of the armed forces of the Confederacy, to no one's surprise.

Asajj Ventress

Count Dooku's apprentance; the death of her Jedi Master brought emotional pain to her and turned the once cheerful and pleasant Dathomirian into a ruthless and vindicative killer fully seduced by the Dark Side. Dooku saw great potential in her, and adopted her as his apprentice, where he has honed her to become quite the assassin. With the arrival on the new planet, perhaps she can find peace in her pain, and try to find a sense of normality on this planet.

Jango Fett

Of all the people Dooku expected to see on the new planet, Jango had to be near the bottom of the list. Dooku saw the Mandalorian's head head clean chopped off. Yet here he is, completely alive and normal. To make things even more disturbing to Dooku, Jango knew of his untimely demise, but yet, with the Force's mysterious power, he was granted new life in this new Confederacy. Dooku's respect for the bounty hunter must have manifested for his revivial on this planet; given most of the people Dooku actually wanted in his Confederacy also came with him. Jango, for his part, accepted his new fate, and pledged his services for the reborn Confederacy.

Reflet "Reffy" Ju

However, even the miraculous return of Jango Fett wasn't the weidest person to follow him to the new planet. No, it was this Jedi. A full blown, light sided Jedi! Talking to this woman, it became clear that she came from some sort of alternative timeline where she was a Jedi Padawan who defected to the Confederacy and served in battle against the Republic, which she shared the same exact sort of outrage against as Dooku did. The existence of a Light Side Jedi, who came to the same conclusions he did without falling into the embrace of the Dark shook Dooku to his very core. Reflet is more than willing to support the Confederacy as she did in her past life, but Dooku is completely unsure what to think of her

COLORADO REPUBLIC
A Republic, on the Colorado River.
Claims: Colorado-Utah, Arizona-New Mexico
Colour: Grey
Capital: Grand Junction (in Colorado-Utah)
Research Strength: Navy

The Colorado Republic is a Republic along the Colorado river. All its major population centres and important cities lie on the river and its tributaries. The capital - Grand Junction - is seated at the confluence of the Gunnison and Colorado rivers. The Republic holds elections and the Colorado is a river.

Politics is dominated by four major parties and government are often formed of a coalition of at least two of them. The Colorado Republic Party (CRP) is a major centrist party especially popular in urban Utah and rural Colorado. The Republican Party of Colorado (RPC) is a centre-left party which has strong social liberal views and has the majority of support from the people of Arizona. The Party for the Colorado Republic (PftCR) is a heavily socialist party that has most of its support based in the large cities of Colorado and Arizona. The Republic of Colorado Party (RoCP) is the centre-right party which has a tight grip on the New Mexico Political sphere.

In terms of demography most of the residents of the Colorado Republic are human and pretty normal. Those who aren't are still usually welcome as they are all people too. Religiously there are quite a few Mormons and Protestants with a Significant number of Catholics too. There are also some people who are other things too, and that is also alright here.

The economy of the Colorado Republic is based around the Colorado river. This is a large river that runs through North America and exists in the Pacific. It makes some big canyons too. The economy of the Colorado Republic is also to do with money and not just rivers but not many people like doing things that do not involve the river because the river is just so damned big and cool. There are other smaller rivers and pretty much all of them flow into the Colorado river - this process is all part of the system of drainage basins. This means the economy of the Colorado Republic is pretty great as economies go.

Harry Colorado, the Hero of the Republic
- the republic's greatest hero! He was born in the Colorado Republic in one of the towns that lies on the Colorado (a river). He was one of the many people who sailed on the river and he thus became the greatest hero of the Colorado Republic.

Hey is the person who claimed Antarctica and Argentina still playing? I have an idea, and I'd like to take that spot if at all possible.

At the present time, there is no dedicated building set aside for the Imperial Palace. The Emperor has made his official 'palace' in Old Parliament House, south of Lake Burley Griffen, for the present time. His offices are in the old rooms of the Senate President. It is planned for a new palace to be built in the Parliamentary Triangle, on the ruins of New Parliament House, at some point in the foreseeable future. For practical purposes, the Emperor actually lives in the former residence of the Govenor-General, as there are no sufficient living quarters at Parliament House. His personal vehicle is a Rolls-Royce Phantom II of 1929 vintage, which he is adament looks cool and isn't ostentatious in the slightest.

The Emperor is infamously erratic in schedule on most days, but will generally meet with the Imperial Prime Minister at least once a day to discuss affairs. The Prime Minister is appointed by the majority party in the Parliament, but can be removed from power by the Emperor.

A battalion of Guards is maintained in the city of Canberra at all times for both ceremonial and home defense duties. The battalion on station is rotated every six months between the First Foot Guards, representing the Army, and the Royal Marine Guard (a ceremonial unit drawn from the Royal Marine Light Infantry and the fleet marines), representing the Navy. The army troops wear red jackets, red-lined black trousers, white webbing and a short, black, French-style shako. The marines wear a similar uniform, except the jacket is blue and a Wolseley-pattern pith helmet is worn. The British influence is intentional, but there is a concession to Australian practice - the use of the L1A1 battle rifle as a drill weapon, adopted from the Federation Guard.

The Emperor has dismissed claims that he's just trying to make the British Empire but in the Pacific.

The Governance of the Domain

Council:
The highest power in the domain, the council consists of five members: the head councilman Miłosław Kozlow, the leaders of the departments and the two attendants of the oracles, who are typically chosen from among the conclave. Council members have a great deal of authority within the state, being able to overrule virtually any decision made by government officials other than another council member. The council as a whole has the vital task of interpreting and disseminating the sayings of the oracles, and they are the sole people with the official capacity to attempt to draw conclusions from the oracles' increasingly complicated prophecies.

Departments:

Administration in the domain is broadly broken down into to spheres, roughly corresponding to internal and external affairs. Internal Affairs, headed by Waleria Róg, deals predominantly with issues such as taxation, infrastructure, and disputes between believers. In contrast, External Affairs, headed by Maksym Wojda, deals with items such as the army, the navy, and disputes between nonbelievers. While most portions of the government deal strictly with one department or the other, certain topics, such as espionage, fortifications, and disputes between believers and nonbelievers, are influenced by both departments to varying degrees.

Conclave:

The conclave is a yearly assembly of large landowners, business leaders, and various other representatives of local powers and interests. The purpose of this gathering is threefold. First, the conclave encourages greater sense of unity by providing an opportunity settle significant, long-running disputes and more generally organized collective projects. Second, the members of the conclave are responsible for reporting on any auspicious or unusual events that may aid in providing context for an oracular proclamation. Third, and most importantly, the conclave elects the attendants of the oracles to year-long terms. These attendants are charged with keeping a perpetual watch on their assigned oracle, along with providing for their wants and needs. Furthermore, these attendants typically call the rest of the council to a meeting when a critical prophecy is announced.

You should probably take some coastline, especially if you're gonna be naval-focused. From what I can tell, rivers aren't really represented in this game, sorry. Still adding you to the Map though.

The Colorado Republic is a Republic on the Colorado river. We need no coast when we have such a river. Our Heroic Citizens will ride down the river and from thence come to dominate the world.

On The Empire's Religious Policy

The Basilea Konstantina has a somewhat unique religious policy, developed from it's close proximity to the heathen Cults. In everyday life, the mere mention of one of these cults (especially the "Great Cult" to the east, which most of the Empire belives to be made up of Hellspawn) often sends a shiver down someone's spine, considering the two cults' persecution of Christians. This fear was (and still is) used by the government to justify abandoning secularism in favor of a state religion, but not in the way you'd expect. While the Empire is technically Orthodox Christian, people of other Christian branches are accepted as near-equals (with the only downsides of being a heretic being rejection of the highest government positions and 2.5% more income tax), allowing some religious flexibility within the Empire between Christian denominations.

Those who reject Christ completely, however, are not so lucky. Non-christian temples are not allowed within the Empire, and existing ones in conquered lands are completely burned to the ground. Jews and Muslims are treated poorly (10% more income tax and being unable to attain any government positions), but they have it better than the Cultists. Any man who is caught worshiping the "Great Old Ones" vanishes the next day, never to be seen again. Many believe they are burned at the stake, while others think they are thrown in a modern equivalent of an Oubliette. Followers of the Oracles have it a little better (though not by much, 20% more income tax and denial of government positions), but quality of life for them is generally very poor as well. The empire has had mixed feelings about Atheists, but they (for now) are treated the same as non-Orthodox Christians.

This has made the empire a haven for those Chrisitans persecuted by the the heathens to the north and east but may draw the ire of said heathens who dislike the intolerance of their faith. Some question if this policy is truly Godly, but they are quickly silenced by the great many refugees fleeing the heathen nations. The Patriarch of Constantinople has not yet made an official statement on the matter but seems relatively ambivalent about it. The people themselves are actually relived that the Imperial government has made this choice, feeling the government understands their desires and protected from foreign cults.
