Circle of Gaelan help

Attached a zip with just the fix for the Willful Adept series. You can either just put all the contents into your FfH folder (overwrite the .ini and Assets folders), or you can move everything from my XML into yours. If you move the XML into the main mod then make certain you overwrite the pre-existing Gaelan events, don't put those in as completely new lines. Almost everything else will be new if I recall correctly though.

BTW: One nice thing about this fix is that if someone takes over the city before you get event 2 or 3, the chain will continue with THEM now having the chance to found the Circle of Gaelan. So the guild cannot be removed from the game unless someone makes the wrong choices on the events :)


Edit 2: I also changed the AI value for each event so that if the AI beats you to this series they WILL make the proper choices.

Will this need to be reapplied after each patch? And do you think it would break a saved game?

Though you should remove it if the patch claims to have changed/fixed the event (assuming you use it as a module. If you edit the XML you have to re-do with every patch).
 
so i read what you said about the mod wolf.
my question is i have been play a cool game but i have allready had the first event of the circle and i put gaelan in charge. Is there a possibily of having the event happen agen and if not, could i use the world editor to put Gaelan's study in my city to make the 2nd event happen and keep the track going

Well, not the error I typically see when I break my savegames. The good news is that you can just delete the module and be back to normal at least :)

If you REALLY want to have the Circle in THIS game, just go into Worldbuilder and assign your Capitol City as the Headquarters for it.

Hehe. Too curious to see the Gaelen events to delete the module but not quite ready to go so far as Worldbuilder. I've already started a new game. : )

I have merged it with my modmod and it works fine. The interval between events is just as long as it should be. Only thing I have changed was to make Galean's study and workshop a bit smaller. They are a bit too large ;)

Having completed the chain, I do not think I will get Galean another time.
Last event was a bit... disturbing, so playing Elohim mostly I will try the ranger option next :)

Well unfortunately when you decide NOT to get the Circle you do get to keep the buildings. I just now realized that I can probably have the final event cause -3 science in the Workshop to balance them out since I cannot get the game to remove the buildings for some reason.

And I hadn't thought about the size of the buildings really :) I have been planning to replace them though with some really nifty wonder buildings I found on the CFC site. But I am a bit wrapped up working on the Manual right now ;)
 
Sorry, I've been out for a few months, basically since March. Has anything been "fixed" with the Gaelen events up to now (v. 2.032) or is this mini-patch still the only solution?
 
Is there a way to spread this to other cities?
 
Any other city with a Mage Guild (not from the Catacomb Libralus, one you built yourself) will get the guild at the start of the turn. It can be modified so that the free Guilds from the Catacomb are also included for the Guild fairly easily.
