Honor: Dedication

Nomination:

she seems to do lots around here, and to get up at 5am to play a turnchat is very dedicated.

Secondation: (Yes, I'm inventing words here)

Putting aside the personal impact that she had done onto me in a negative way. The reason I wish to second her is her uncanny dedication to the demogame. I have known her since the time I first came to the Demogame back in DG1 and have seen first hand how dedicated she was. Despite leaving he demogame on her own terms, she was still there to cretique what is going on in the demogame during her absence from the game.

Poll will run for 3 days

No.

Chieftess indeed seems dedicated (and she actually is when she plays), but has left the Demogame too often because of the choice of a forum-moderator other than her, that she had to be (as she calls it herself) "dragged back in kicking and screaming".

Yes - She is dedicated as DP. She has put in a lot of time and effort when she was elected an office (Domestic for instance). She has made an effort to get more people to join by posting on the frontpage.
But she is not dedicated to the game; she is only dedicated to the game if she gets to be special. I think that is not pure dedication enough to be honored.

Special Circumstance:

As Chieftess is the current President of the game, it would be unfair to allow her to decide wether to accept or decline the honor. As such, if the poll receives a simple majority, the honor of accepting or declining the honor will goto the Vice President, or if unavaible, I will decide.

There isn't one, and even if there was one, I still wouldn't follow it, but rather let the person who leads the department inwhich the honor goes with to decide. Which was my plan, but as "dedication" does not have a department, I'll let the VP or if he fails to reply, I'll decide.

I hereby declare that I am not in favor of these mid-game "citizen honors". It doesn't make any sense to give someone an award in the middle of the game, when we have no idea how they will act for the rest of it. Honors should be awarded at the end of the game, as a reward for long-term excellence and dedication; not for short term involvement.

(note: this isn't in any way a sleight against CT, I'm merely stating my opinion on "citizen honors" in general)

Chieftess is probably the most dedicated member of this nation for this demogame. I believe she deserves the honor.

I also believe that honors should start, after we discover chivalry (like we have already in this one). People can be nominated throughout the game, after the discovery. It isn't too soon, because what if a person that did much is forgotten by the end of the game. The deeds are still known shortly after chivalry, and it gives enough time for people to do something creditable.

I've made a post about this in another thread, but for the sake of creativity... I'll post a new debate.

First off, there is a CITIZEN HONOR DISCUSSION THREAD IN THE CITIZENS FORUM FOR THIS! I suggest you use it.

Second off, the point of waiting untill the end of the DG is for what? For we can wait to see what that person might do? The only purpose of that is for someone can say that "They were the best in all of DG5 in ???." Hell no, I'm keeping the way it is, if you want a full list of reasons I suggest posting your complaint in the proper thread or sending me a PM.

Citizen Honor for Chieftess accepted by the house with 53.14% of the vote. A PM will be sent to the Vice Presdient asking to accept or veto the honor.

Great, we have now honored someone found guilty of violating the Constitution.

Maybe we should all violate the Constitution and we will get honoured. :joke: The people have spoken though. :hmm: :yeah: :crazyeye:

It does seem strange but that's the way the vote went.

No, it's not strange at all. Chieftess is a big proponent of the chats and she will always get the chat crowd to vote for her, be it for president, *not guilty* or an honor. Since many of those who cannot be at the chats (understandably) lose interest in these demogames they don't stay around long enough to vote in polls such as these.

Of course I might be going abit hard on our beloved president. She did get more votes here than in the last *election*.

I haven't even told anyone to vote for me...

That's the beauty of the system. You don't even have to ask!

Please don take my anti-chat ramblings to heart CT. :)

We aren't honoring CT for following the rules. This is just purely for dedication to the DG. Of course I voted abstain, so who am I to talk.

Ahh, but not her dedication to the rules of the DG.

Now I understand - how silly of me.
