I was going through some photographs of Peru that a friend of mine took on our trip there. We went about 6 months ago. I found a picture of an Inca, probably THE Inca (the king), and I noticed he looked identical to the Inca in Civ 3. The portion of the sign right below the statue doesn't show his name, unfortunately.

So, I just thought that was interesting.

Wierd how the Civ series mimics life ;)

Interesting find, Phlegmak.

I always thought that Firaxis wouldnt do a great job at Civ leaderheads, especially Ancient Civilization leaderheads, but it seems this one is pretty accurate. (I doubt Alexander the Great would have big goofy classes in today's world a.k.a Modern Age) ;)

Ha ha. Generally, I have expected Civ to do a poor job of showing some of the leaders of the civilizations. For example, Catherine the Great in Civ 4. Genghis in Civ 3.

Catherine was reportedly quite beautiful in her youth. She's just more famous for her old age.

No she was beutiful by standards back then. And fat people were considered beatiful and she was quite fat.

She never looked like she does in civ4. Not her face or her body weight.

well, you would figure most people from the same genetic background would look similar. So to us, who are accustomed to thousands of pure and intermixed genetic heritages, Firaxis could have made him look like any pure-blood Inca and the resemblance would probably seem pretty high.

Young version of Catherine the Great, make up your own mind.

I'd give her a go? But I'm easy :)

Civ I and Civ III, at least, seem to me to do a pretty good job in representing the leaders (I never played the others in the series). The major exception, to my mind, is the Civ III Alexander the Great, which looks nothing like the usual representation of Alexander. I'm aware that that usual representation is itself something of an idealisation, but all the same, I don't know what they based their image on. Civ I Alexander looked right.

I'm not convinced by the Civ III Caesar, either, but that's probably because I just don't like it.

dear god, that first one Xanikk999 posted is horrible.
my eyes are burning...

i wonder why they didnt include the fat one in civ 4?
