After they make the real game, they could make an expansion pact that starts in 1800s.

They could update it with industrial tech and need for coal, oil, gas, diamonds, gemstones, etc.

They could also make map worldwide so European powers can invade India, Africa, Pacific, and China.

New Civs:
Germany
Italy
United States
Russian Empire
Portugal (if not included in original and they can be put in the 1492-1800 scn.)
British Empire (replaces England)

Minor Civs (non-playable and not as strong)
Belgians - can colonize
Ottomon Empire
Austrians
Safavid Persia
China
Japan - can colonize
Mughals
Axum (Ethopia)
Denmark
Sweden

Tribes:
Keep Natives minus the Cherokee, Iroquos, Huron, Incas, Aztecs, Carib, and Mayans who have all been wiped out. These lands now belong to Spain, USA, Britain, etc.
Zulu
Songhai
Mali
Congo
Khmers - SE Asia
Koreans
Polynesians
Aborigines
Mawi (New Zealand)
Tartars - in Russia
Uzbeks - in Russia
Mongols

New Units:
Riflemen
Steamships
Ironclads
New version of artillery
Rockets
Later on - Dreadnaughts, Iron war ships, Machine Guns, Zeppelins, Aeroplanes

There probably wouldn't be an xpack for colonization-really, when you think about it, the civs and ideas you mentioned would just make it about the same size as normal civ. Firaxis would probably just put them all in the 1st edition of colonization, if they were add them.

Rather than Industrialism, I'd like to see an Imperialism expansion pack. It would include all of the things the OP described, but the name fits better, and it can include the US for South America and such.

I'm really think, if this game focusing about making colony, it should not just colonizing america, the new world.
In the reality, there are so many colony outside america.

Heck
Dutch has made colony in indonesia about 350 years!!

And i think if there would be any expansion, they must include some tribe outside the american native.

Just a suggestion.

It would be really interesting to have a map of the whole world, but with the nations in Europe unplayable; the player could only take the role of a colonial governor, each nation having multiple colonial governors working in the form of different colonial leaders working for the nation (like Simon Bolivar and San Martin for Spain).

Agree
The most important thing we need from colonization is a real map

Heck

If i'm right, this game focusing about colonizing america right???
:lol::lol:
Not colonizing some random map
:)

But i hope firaxis would make some tribe (maybe not all, but just a few major tribe) playable.
I really want to play as a chief tribe that repel enemy muskeeter invasion with arrow and overrun them frigate with our mighty canoe.

Not colonizing some random map

Original Colonization has a random map generator as well as Customize map settings ala civ. In fact I enjoyed playing random maps for something different.

About the OPs idea, I don't think it fits very well. The entire point of Col is to gain independence from your european overlords. Not sure how an expansion pack can build on that without it turning into civ basicly..

Civ4 Colonization isn't an expansion pack.

What's so strange with the idea of Col getting an expansion (assuming it sells)?

:)

OK, it's not an expansion pack, it's standalone, but you have to admit an expansion to col would have a strange name. "Civilization IV: Colonization: The Imperial Age"?

That is the worst idea ever. Colonization should have an expansiion pack, that doesn't mean you need to widen the time shift.

Well then you're playing globalization, not colonization.

My thoughts exactly, and it would be hard to imagine a "Civlike" game where you start out with existing "empires" which would have to be the case for this (there's not that much more wilderness left to settle in the world by late 19th century, and that settlement is a core theme in all Civ games).

Plus the game mechanics of colonization (managing individual workers, military units and trade routes) probably means pretty much micro from the start with starting empires. And if you start changing the mechanics a lot it won't be (a) Colonization (expansion) anymore.

So while the theme of Col might be extendable to a post-Colonization scenario, I don't think the gameplay is.

natives should include the Souix and the Lakotta.

note the Lakotta DID hand the US military a defeat, and foced them to sign one of many treaties that one side never has lived by.

If Colonization does get an expansion, I hope they do NOT include a lot of modern units and other continents. I would like to see the game last longer, and I would like to see a few more colony powers (Portugal, Russia, Denmark-Norway, and maybe Sweden or Courland), but not industrialism or the whole ugly deal with Africa... Keep the Belgians and the Germans out of it, for the sake of humanism! :p

I would love 1! I'd like it on a world/industrial basis 2. U could also advance on corperations and civics, even a nice bit of micro-management. Infact, maybe as a mod, the natives colonizing Europe! It would be nice 2 see other colonies other than the US (austrailia, south africa, mexico, canada etc). Infact, a space colinization mod would b good. But then again, this makes me sound as if there will be a civ 4: alpha centuri!

but the point im getting across is, that there will b only an expansion if modders get stuck in. SO GET CRACKIN!
