Civ 5 Design Challenge II - Mechanics

To be honest, I like the victory condition for Petrograd, but I'm not so interested in the UU and UB. I also don't know what Rebels are.

If a civ gets really unhappy and your ideology is particularly influential on them, their cities can flip to you due to rebels, its a really underused mechanic tbh

I vote for Sgtwolf00's Golden Horde.

Rebels are just barbarians with the players tech. Cities flipping is independent of rebels.

I think they're infantry, also I'm going to vote for the Papal States, I like the ideological victory that Petrograd offers, but the limited relations that the Papal States has to deal with would make for some interesting games. And it's not as mean (and morally horrible) as Castile's victory condition.

Edit, never mind what I said about the infantry. Misread what senshidenshi was talking about.

Nazis didn't really stand out for me, not a fan of UU and especially not a fan of UB. But Castille witht that sweet sweet religious victory. DEUS VULT!

Going to vote senshidenshi's House Dimir, the UB and the UU are well-done.

Petrograd for me, Natans is cool but that victory condition seems way too easy to me

Easy?! What? The number of living citizens born in your empire must exceed the number of citizens in all non friendly civilizations. That includes city states, and civilians born before you conquered a city don't count.
Glad you like it anyway, master

Voting period ends tomorrow guys. Everyone is tied except Howard Tafty, with two votes.

I vote for TimeWalker. Hopefully someone swoops in and breaks this tie before we end up with another dread tiebreaker period. Also, why don't we make tiebreakers a one day lighting round? There's only 2 designs to consider and we tend to forgot about the challenge when a tie occurs so making it one day will hopefully prevent that.

Make the voting last one day? That could work, but we have to consider everyone's timezone. Someone could wake up, log on and try to vote, but can't cause he slept through it. Other than me who else lives on the East side of the planet?

So now it's a three way tie between the Fascists (Nazis), the Communists (Petrograd Russia) and the Monarchists (Castile).

Damn, I should've done a democratic civilisation so it would've been Freedom vs Order vs Autocracy. Although I guess monarchies are more Freedom than the other two.

Have all posters voted?

Eep! I was going to vote for senshidenshi's House Dimir, although that might exacerbate the issue... XD I'm not sure how many votes each candidate has so far.

Oh, I'm sure it's fine ;)

(In all seriousness, House Dimir is actually the first design I've done that I'm somewhat proud of.)

Will you give up your prize?

(To end bureaucracy)

I'll assume you're talking to me...

Yeah, I'm cool with giving up my prize if I win. The mechanic I was going to go with was "Gain bonuses from pillaged tiles", which is kind of boring.

I actually have s design for that mechanic.

Howard Tafty, TimeWalker, Natan and Senshidenshi are tied now. Quick, someone vote for Sgtwolf00!

I vote for Sgtwolf00.

:p

Are you kidding me. I thought senshidenshi won already!!!

(Nazis are best BTW)
