Civ 5 Testers group ... AKA I HATE YOU GUYZ !!!

You know, I watched a gameplay vid of civ5 earlier and as I was watching I noticed 2 or 3 things that made me think 'that seems like it comes from FFH'

It's cool that they included you all in this. I'm really looking forward to, already pre-loaded on both my computers. Pity my only skip-able class is on monday.

guess ill have to kill some people on that list and devour their hearts to get their strength ... erm, allowance on beta testing civ games.
naaa... congratulations! i have been asking myself for a long time whether firaxis (or anyone else involved in the producing of the civ games...) was taking notice of the immense modding potential existent for those games... guess that question is finally answered.

i also have to admit that this will possibly be the most important reason for me to buy this game.

Actually, if you browse through that list the vast majority of the testers are modders.

And Jon Shafer, lead designer, was a modder himself. Created Final Frontier, among other things.

Let's put it this way: Civ4 held my interest for maybe 3 games. BtS, 0. I purchased it specifically for FfH, and modding.

Civilization V has held my interest through numerous games, even without modding it. In fact, I haven't even begun modding it, I've been playing it too much!

Put it this way: I'll be purchasing a copy as soon as I have the funds to do so, even though I have a free copy because of the testing.

It is an excellent game.

I can honestly say I will be playing CivIV for a long time before I will be able to play CiV. I simply don't have the computer to play CiV. As I don't have a duel core processor.

My computer goes a bit slow on it (laptop, not built for games), but not in Strategic View. Which is my preferred view anyway.

Same here. I built my computer in 2003, only upgrade is a new video card, but to make it any better would require a complete rebuild (new CPU -> new motherboard -> new video card (damn you PCI-e, I thought AGP 8x was forever!), new RAM (DDR3? Was that really necessary?))

I will upgrade eventually, but the older I get, the less spending money I have. Man, the richest I've ever felt was in high school

I stopped trying to keep track of PC customization stuff once they started upgrading every other year. I have so much crap on my old PCs hard drive that I can't get back because it's an IDE drive and my new PC only has SATA ports >:l

try an external disk box.
generaly it is compatible both with SATA and IDE. So put to old disl into the box and then you connect the external drive disk to your USB port...

I know Kael has moved on to a stand-alone game, but could we ever expect anything like RiFE for Civ V?

Not a repeat of RiFE, but Valkrionn has stated many times that he is planning a fantasy mod for Civ V, codenamed Eden.

And Kael's standalone project fell through, unfortunately. He's actually talking about going back to modding for Civ V. Bright days are ahead!
