Civ 50 years from now...

I think civ is a great game and It can stand the "test of time"

**** Cool Books I started my first cool book because I would be Original, and now all you basterd's stole my Idea! thanks to the Insane spamming poster!

Someone said that some things last forever, and Civ probably will. But look at it. See how fast computer technology is advancing! Games that were made 10 years ago don't "exist" anymore (except Civ1). No one even plays Command and Conquer, and its only 4 years old! Then think 50 years!!!
the really good thing about games becoming obsolite quickly is that some of thoses good old games start becoming really cheap and you can get more games for your money!

It's a bit wierd to start talking about more versions when we are waiting for the big v3.

But if civ continues in it's popularity, they might do more versions... There are still things to improve! I don't like the perspective in civ2 for example.
Wouldn't it be really good to have a real globe instead of the flat map? Think about that, spin it around, zoom freely...

Another thing.
It seems like the game producers have run out of good game concepts... Where are all the new simple but great ideas like tetris, pacman, civ, gravity force, etc?

There must be more great areas of gaming to develop.
