Man...prepping for release day sure looks different when you're middle-aged with kids. Civ6 released when I was in my 20s, sans children.
That unit upgrades to the Knights that say "Ekke Ekke Ekke Ekke Ptang Zoo Boing!".Last night re-watched Monty Python and the Holy Grail as a relief from all things Civ.
Found myself contemplating what kind of Exploration Age unit the Knights That Say 'Ni' would be.
Gave up.
While I'm a preorder sinner, I couldn't bring myself to splurge for more than the standard edition.
The pricing is crazy for what the upcoming DLC seem to provide. As an integrated "season pass", it's a bit of a joke sprinkled with FOMO trinkets and baubles.
The funny thing is that not pre-ordering, but buying the deluxe edition, is probably the most sane move. This way, you aren't FOMO'd into pre-ordering a digital game. If you are already committed to waiting until Feb 11, you can just wait to see how things shake out, then buy the deluxe edition (or not) and still get all the content (since the preorder content is included). While I'm a preorder sinner, I couldn't bring myself to splurge for more than the standard edition.

Did I misunderstand something? Founders gives you also 4 civs, 4 wonders, 2 leaders etc. in upciming dlc that is includedThe funny thing is that not pre-ordering, but buying the deluxe edition, is probably the most sane move. Founder's edition is an eye-watering $189 CAD with sales tax. That is almost double the cost of the standard edition. I never considered it until discovering that I could buy it on Fanatical for 12% off and no sales tax (effectively 25% off).
So, I paid $43 CAD for some jokes, trinkets, and baubles. Maybe worth it, maybe I'll never buy a full-price digital game ever again. Time will tell.
I got a Steam giftcard for Christmas, so my Founders was subsidized by around 40%I'll admit that I was a bit of two minds on that as well, but in the end I figured that I'll want to buy all leader and civ content anyway, so I might as well buy the bundle and save a few bucks. Even if I don't like the way they handle it.
no one cares. go complain in some other thread.I can't remember ever looking forward so much to not buying a game.
Oh, how strange, so many people suddenly becoming "ill"... what a strange coincidence!Downloaded the Steam app and left my PC on running Steam so I can start the download remotely and it'll be ready to go when I got home from work tonight. Feeling a bit woozy too, definitely gonna be sick tomorrow.
Not quite all the content. Deluxe includes the first batch of extra leaders and civs (Crossroads of the World), but only the Founder's Edition includes the later so far unknown pack, Right to Rule. The funny thing is that not pre-ordering, but buying the deluxe edition, is probably the most sane move. While it's not officially released, the right to rule content has been datamined through the Epic Games store version. Not quite all the content.
