Why is Persia's text in Hebrew? Is this intended?
It isn't in Hebrew.
It is using the modern Hebrew alphabet (alef-bet). See posts #88-91:
I'd like some input, would you rather see Modern Hebrew (closest thing to Aramaic I can get) or Modern Persian for Persia?
I would say Hebrew would be closer
There's some TrueType fonts here which include ancient Aramaic (which isn't right), but also Nabataean, which might be a nice compromise.
EDIT: Actually, the Late Semitic Hebrew (a la the Isaiah Dead Sea Scroll) from here looks much closer.
Thanks I'll change the map for Persia soon, I'll have to convert the font for the Hebrew alphabet first. (it's replacing the English alphabet at the moment)
...Persia (Currently Modern Hebrew).
It looks like sukritact never got around to updating it.

Wow!
Why isn't it in Aramaic?

Hmmm.... i think Hebrew its the closest to Aramaic, but why is the text in modern Hebrew, not in ancient Hebrew?
(Oh, and BTW, its 480 before Christian counting, not just before counting...)

I find it slightly hilarious that Buenos Aires, which was the Argentinian capital at the time, is under Brazil's control.

It should probably be Montevideo because Uruguay wasn't actually independent until some time later.

Was the map of India ever fixed? The text in wrong in many places, and it doesn't actually show Kashmir in India.

Do these maps show the time of the leaders in the game?
