Civ Gold Edition compatibility

Is Civ 4 Gold Edition compatible with regular civilization with the warlords expansion?

It depends on what you mean by that.

I would see no point in it working with regular civ becuase its included in gold.

My only concern was whether or not civ gold was an entirely different version of the game, and would only work with other civ gold version.

Since there doesn't seem to be a know problem I will assume that it will work with regular civ with the warlords expansion bought seperatly.

Civ4 Gold is compatible with the regular versions of Civ4 and Warlords. After all, it is really just the two bundled together.

But if you want to add the Beyond the Sword expansion, be prepared for trouble. The difference in the registry keys between regular Civ4 and Gold seems to confuse the BtS installer. In order to install BtS, I had to uninstall Gold, reinstall my original Civ4, and then add BtS.
