CIV Gold!

David is a tricky character to call a good Favorite Civic for. He ran Israel pretty harshly if you think about it (or at least believe the Biblical account), but I wouldn't call it a Police State. He did establish Israelite hegemony, and finally broke free of interference from the Philistines and Assyrians, but I wouldn't call it Nationalism either. And while he technically established a royal line I wouldn't really give him Hereditary Rule considering how he came to power and how he kept power... he wasn't exactly religious, although he was said to have been chosen by God and was written about the most out of any other Biblical character, so I don't know. I'd probably go with Vassalage or something.

Not Religous? He's the one who wrote the whole book of Psalms in the bible. Which, if your familiar with, clearly demonstrates his passionate devotion to his faith and to God. (His son Solomon then wrote Proverbs).

I think David's favorite civic should be Organized Religion. Either that or Theocracy. :)

...hmm... now that I think about it, Theocracy fits in pretty nicely with all things considered.

Solomon's favorite Civic should be Organized Religion for his massive building spree of many temples including the famed Temple of Solomon, which also gave birth to the origins of that secretive group now known as the FreeMasons.
 
I agree, Theocracy for David and Organized Religion for Solomon seems like the best choise...

We really shouldn't be using that David in the first place when Ekmek has an infinitely better LH.

Agreed, someone posted a list earlier of the LHs in Civ Gold which have superior versions available.

Writing songs and poems is one thing, murdering people and sleeping with their wives is another thing. :rolleyes:

Although in my mod I'll probably use Theocracy, mainly because of what the civic actually does. I wouldn't say David was a very religious person though, at least not in the sense of his actions.

That's an artefact from CIV Gold 1.0, back when editing NIF files was a bit more arduous. It stems from an incomplete removal of the crown in nifskope.

As for the patch...

Still going to do it, including the balancing and leaderhead replacement.

Life is so, so, so busy right now that it's tough to find time to get this done. I know a few of you have done some work in pulling things together, including PAK files. If you want to organize to move forward on a patch, PM me.

Wyz, and every one else that works on Mods... I got to say that I have mad respect and admiration for all you guys who stay commited to these things in spite of real life demanding your very valuable (and limited) time. Hi. Noticed this thread hasn't been replied to in AGES, but I have an error. Whenever I try to change the effects of UBs or UUs, I get error messages saying

'Loadingcall for Blah/Blah/HoTrai failed'.

Help?
 
I didn't make any errors- I just changed a few numbers, say on the Ho Trai, from 35 to 30... Nothing major, and definitely nothing I would repeat with ALL the UBs I changed.

Well, did the error exist before your changes ? If not, it is your error.
 
My error might be my merging Civ GOLD with BUFFY. Does BUFFY not allow XML editing? And if so, what must I delete, so that it will start working?
