I stopped playing this game about six months ago... got kind of tired of it. Then the other day I found out that my MacBook can actually run it to the point where I can play games! I finished two little games in two days... I felt this resurgence of enjoyment. I had started and quit so many games on my main computer... I never really seemed to finish. But now I can sit, watch t.v. hang out and play some turns. I'm surprised that mobility makes the game so much more enjoyable.

anyway... maybe they changed the game and made it more fun or something. Now I'm really looking forward to the next Big Thing.

Seems there are a lot of people returning to the game at the moment. I've just returned to it in the last week as well. It's certainly a great time to jump back into it. We all need to get back our Civ skills before the new expansion comes along.

That's pretty common when an expansion is announced. It gets people thinking about the game. Most of them haven't played in a while, so they come back to see what patches have done. If they are planning on getting the expansion, they might also feel pressured to finish the achievements or any games they were playing. Most players don't play the old version once they have the expansion, so they feel like it's their last chance to play the "base" game.

Ha. The funny thing is that I didn't know about the expansion until I started playing again and came back here.

I have come back to it myself in the last few days. Stopped playing the first 2 or 3 month after it came out. I finally just told myself its a different kind of civ. Once I accepted that it wasn't bad.

I still don't like the same things I didn't like before, I just have lowered the standards I had for civ. I don't expect as much from this one anymore so now I can play it. Probably not the best reason to come back but its working. I will get what I can from it for now. Fun little game but still ain't what I wish it were.

It still just isn't that fun IMHO.

Although, to be honest, I'm having that experience with a lot of games.
