We had patches and hotfixes. Did they solve your problems with large maps and/or late game crashes?

Actually, the situation got worse after 1.135.

Prior to that patch, I may have had 3 or 4 crashes. This can happen and I am not blaming them for such rare occurancies.

After 1.135, though, crashes become more common.
Especially loading autosaves to test different approaches now constitute a problem. And these aren't necessarilyl lategame saves.

In terms of stability, the game clearly has deterioted for my system (i7 920, Win7 x64, 8 GB RAM, GTX 280, constantly updated)

And the situation has not changed after having reinstalled the game due to the 1.141 problem.

Still constantly crashes on huge, marathon maps with default civs and CSs, but most people probably don't play that way so they don't get the crashes and the problem doesn't get recognised.

They should just remove the options if they don't intend to fix it.

I got a few crashes or freezes before, and with the cruddy game play, I quit playing. New patch out, started a new game, it seems different, I am having a bit of fun actually, and no crashes or freezes yet with the game running 4 hours straight.

Will see how it plays later today.

Has your game been crashing?

Yes. Since installation, until today.

The patches have pretty much fixed the out-of-box outrageous end-turn lag times but I still get crashes in late game playing std maps, and I have a very powerful system with an equally powerful graphics card.

Granted, fewer than before the patches, but I still get at least 2-3 CTDs late in every game.

Didn't crash but once until the December patch. Then crashed lots. Then I went from 3GB to 4GB system RAM, and it stopped crashing (mostly - the last one was when I dropped my keyboard, of all things).

I never crash with Dx10 which i play. but i have tried Dx9 before & i crashed abit. I also have a brother with different comp specs who crashes on dx9 frequently later on in his games.

Crashes (black-screen) before patch with DX9 & 11, same now after both new patches. Otherwise I run a very stable computer, it never crashes except when running Civ5.

Zero crashes before the patch. Post patch, non-stop crashes. Drives me nuts. Haven't played enough over Christmas since the hotfix, but it crashed once since then (the one time I played).

I think this pool needs an option to "Wasn't crashing before but now it crashes like a test car with a dummy inside". When that option arrive I'll vote.

I've got the occasional crash on loading going on now, which occured when the game first came out, got fixed and now is broken again.

Put it into "still crashing". It just means the patch didn't improve the stability, which in your case, is def. true, I'd say.

I'm getting crashes in the late game at the same turn even after reloading. Here's hoping for another patch...

Why? He states that prior to the patch it wasn't crashing, so the "Still crashing" is an incorrect option and therefore if he checks that box, the poll is incorrect. What's interesting is that several have stated that they experienced no crashes until the new patch.

I voted no crashes. I'm playing on both the Mac side and a Windows partition.

Why? Because the patch didn't improve the crashing, it worsened it. No, I am not stating that the poll is perfect, I am stating that it still can capture the point that the patch and hotfix have not improved the situation for many users.

I do agree that it is interesting that a number of people have only started experiencing crashes after the patch. Sorry that this poll cannot discriminate that group. Am I going to get an infraction because you don't like my poll?
