Civ VI Artworks from Firaxis Artists

..."Victoria II"...? I wasn't aware there had been more than one Victoria of the United Kingdom.

Doesn't Boudicca roughly translate into Victory?

Yes, but her name wasn't literally Victoria and she wasn't the ruler of the same country, so I still don't think any historian would style the UK queen as Victoria II. :p I'm pretty positive that there were Anglo-Saxon kings named Edward before Edward I Longshanks, too, for example. ;)

I didn't notice till you pointed it out lol :shifty:
Guess he's a creative who isn't big on history... rather than taking too much creative license

I've found history to be a pretty logical extension of my liberal arts major, but it's also hindered me from enjoying some very lovely but historically nonsensical works that are supposed to be historical. :p

Modder @sukritact shared on twitter that he got a freelance work for Firaxis and he actually modeled the palaces for Byzantium and Gaul!

Well deserved!

That is awesome, and he did a great job.

I was hoping the devs would collab with him at some point. It seemed like they were tacitly acknowledging his mods as semi-official anyway and avoiding stepping on the toes of his existing mods (like completely avoiding even city-state representation of Burma, Siam, Tibet, Iceland, etc., choosing different leaders for Ethiopia and Gaul...).

If any of the modders deserve to have their civs purchased and polished into official releases, I think Suk's portfolio is far and away the closest to Firaxis-level quality. Would absolutely pay for a Suk SE Asia pack with officially recorded music (and maybe a few mechanical tweaks to make the civs more gimmicky). I am half-expecting Firaxis to fill in SE Asia anyway with at least a city-state pack, so it's not much of a stretch to hope that they just use what already exists.

Yes I thought so too! I think they were impressed when he modded Ethiopia and Gaul and perhaps given them an idea to finally put those civs in the game without stepping in his leader mods.
