I don't know Chinese weaponry but I do know some Chinese... Dao is quite literally knife, in its meaning (the same character is read as katana in Japanese)

Jian is literally sword (tsurugi in Japanese, or Ken, as in kendo--japanese swordplay)

That's not a big problem - they'll spawn anywhere if there's no space inside :D

At least one city state that won't be conquered by the AI. Now could a human conquer it? Spec ops could parachute in, but they only have a ranged attack, right? So is nothing able to conquer that city?
edit: I forgot about GDR, it's been so long since I used one.

You can use builders to improve CS owned land, wonder if you can use an engineer to build a tunnel. And then you have the Inca Qhapaq Ñan of course...
Edit: I see now that there are still mountain tiles not claimed by the CS so shouldn't be an issue.

America (green) and Canada (white) settled in a pattern which is real life upside down :D Complete with Teddy settling "Alaska" (Southwest corner) later in the game.

And yes, that's Aztec to the North of USA! :D

If Phoenicia were in the game, but again, there's no lake or coast tile within three tiles of Palenque to construct a Cothon, preventing it from being an unconquerable capital.

Indeed, but not in the context of Chinese martial arts, where it usually refers to a single-edged sword. The dao that Yu Shu Lien is shown wielding later in the film was definitely sword-length.

Do you know Russia? It is famous city-state known worldwide for their Apostles and their rather short lived existence.

    Spoiler :

There is 11 Relics in a single city with Reliquaries and Kandy. Each Relic came from 4 Faith & 8 Tourism to 18 Faith and 32 Tourism:
    4 × 300% (Reliquaries) × 150% (Kandy) = 4 × 4.5 = 18 Faith
    8 × [ 300% (Reliquaries) + 100% (Saint Basil Cathedral) ] = 8 × 4 = 32 Tourism (and not 48 Tourism).
Basicly, a single city is yielding around 200 Faith and 350 religious Tourism with Relics.

Could be more impressive with Poland (the additional +2 Faith will make each Relics 20 Faith or 27?) and with the city-state Babylon. But I am still satisfied.

Pfft... Kongo laughs at both Russia and Poland... if only someone will be kind enough to give him the relicquaries belief..

    If I remember well:
    • I got 1 early Relic from a tribal village.
    • Being Kandy suzerain allows me to get 2 Relics by discovering a natural wonder.
    • By killing a khmer missionary, I generated a khmer Relic that I bought with diplomatic favor. Sadly, the khmer wasn't prone to send more than 1 missionnary.
    • I built the Mont-Saint-Michel, a wonder that allow to get automaticly the "Martyr" promotion with apostle, and I sent a lot of them on a "get-killed" mission.
Every time an apostle get killed, it is a +18 faith per turn, so the more I get an apostle killed, the more I will have (I took the -30% faith cost as belief). With Moksha third promotion, I had apostles with Martyr and 2 other promotions. Even if the promotion are random, if you pick to much the same one, that one will disappear. So I had to create "trash" apostle with unwanted promotion and get them killed to make sure that the Prozelytizer and Traductor show up again.

The Apadana and the 2-slot bank have general slot, allowing to store 4 extra relics. Mont-Saint-Michel and Saint-Basil Cathedral have respectively 2 and 3 slots for relics. With the palace and the temple slot, you can have 11 relics in the same city.

I did this on purpose, and not a way to win (but win anyway with the Tourism). I tend to play like a 1-city challenge lately and had a bad start. But I continue the game until I got the Cathedral unlocked. I changed my opinion on Moksha: the first promotion allow your military unit to heal in 1-turn, making the city almost immune to conquest, the second allow to get Faith by building things (and immune to aura pressure, which will be hard as your religious units instantly heal in your territory), and the third one allow to get 1 extra promotion, which is huge. Yes, I had some 9 spreads Traductor apostle (3 + 1 (Hagia Sophia) + 2 (Dedication) + 3 (near wonder)). Could be 10 with a Mosque.
But for a 1-city challenge, Pingala is mandatory.

For those who say that Mvemba's "religious convert" ability sucks (it did finish 2nd to last of the elimination thread), I dare you to create a single city that generates 300+ faith/turn with any other civ in a normal deity game.

People misunderstand that just because Kongo cannot build holy sites, that they cannot generate faith... I could faith-buy an archaeologist every 2 turns with this.

I do not understand this well. Is this sarcasm or I didn't really get how Religious Convert worked?

If I understand the Religious Convert ability well, Kongo need to have a majority religion to enjoy all the beliefs. Currently, all players may enjoy all the beliefs except the Founder Belief. For the Kongolese civilization, they enjoy the Founder belief but not the Worship belief (no Holy Site) nor some of the Follower beliefs (if it's: Choral Music, Feed the Word, Religious Community, or Warrior Monks).

Having +300 Faith with religion, I suppose it means that an AI found a religion, found it can expand the religion and add a Founder belief, choose the "Pilgrimage" as a Founder belief, convert at least one of your city (and then you spread to yourself: helping this civilization to win a religious victory), make sure that more than half your cities follow that religion to enjoy the Founder belief, and then make sure that 150 foreign cities follow the same religion.

I don't find this overpowered. It just mean you are stronger when a civilization is about to win a religion victory. But, I may do not understand this ability well. Explanation? (or I am very bad at detecting sarcasm?).

Edit for @kb27787: Oh. My bad ahah. Now I feel dumb, well more than my everyday dumbness :p

No... he gets apostles for free by building districts... Hence he can get a crazy amount of relics without having to spend any faith and still have a ring of apostles to protect the relicquaries belief.

If you can found a tundra city, build St. Basil's Cathedral if possible.

If you can found a snow city, build Amundsen-Scott Research Station if possible.

@God of Kings .. you're in luck -- i am just about ready to hook up such a wild city with more (GoldenGateBridge, etc) than those two!
Possibly around this Sunday evening -- i'll post that completed snapshot for you.

PS; BTW.. i nearly always try to put both St-Basil+AmundsenScott in the same city since the required snow tile(s) have greater chances to be near a rational set of Tundra tiles too.

You forget about jungle Petra... I'm going to say the mercantilism buff is great! No need for lumber mills.
