Civ VI Funny/Strange Screenshots

+2 science for Paititi and +2 culture for woods due to UA... that is a 19-yield tile at the start of the game.
Earth goddess will add 2 more...

And Reyna with FM adds 2 gold. (also upping appeal of nearby tiles) Note a Natural wonder will confer both +2 culture and science, all by itself. Passable wonders of at least 2 (breathtaking) tiles are amazing as well, as the tiles themselves get the +2/+2 not just adjacent ones (which aren't guaranteed to be breathtaking, but they can usually be improved to that point easily).

Like others I've recently had starts where an AI or CS settler was within sight of my settler on turn 1. However, I never saw this before:

I discovered Rapa Nui and was offered the chance to send an envoy...to their settler unit. Instead I "helped" them get things moving by settling a city for them, our scout just had to "escort" them to a sutable location. :shifty:

Edit: typos

Didn't know this was still happening. I used to encounter 'City State Settlers' every few games, but it was back before GS came out; haven't seen them since . . .

I just had one in a game I started last night. Unfortunately my warrior wasn't next to their settler, so I couldn't steal their settler before he found a city site.

Victoria thought she could colonize the land past my borders. I used scouts and military units to block her settler for almost 40 turns. She finally gave up and hopped into the Persian Gulf because Persia said no to English colonization. (I figured out how to get images off the Switch...)

The easiest deity Hypatia ever (and some other GS) and double +1 trade route without Zanghye D.

Somehow all AIs at 50-70 science

Apparently Gaul society arose in a nightmarish hellscape. :D

There are many really good hotsprings in Japan that were named "Hell" or other Hell-themed words because of all the steams and sulphur smells. But still they are good hotsprings.

I'm curious with the Gaul placement rules where people think I should settle. Clearly getting a good campus won't be an issue, faction malus or not.

I mean, you basically have a ton of potential +3 or more campus sites that you can settle virtually anywhere and still have one. I'd probably still settle in place, and you still have nice campus sites either NE on the Wheat or SW on the Wheat. You're also close enough to get your UD near the quarry SW on that lux, so I wouldn't want to move too far to prevent that. Of course, I would also consider settling SW to have more space to add cities in the arctic, and in case there's more resource/quarries near that western lux (plus gets you at least one away from the volcano)

You're right of course. I was having a brain fart and forgetting that you couldn't build districts on the fissures. Plus, doing some exploring and expanding the map, there are quarry items just everywhere.

OK, one game under the belt, onto the next one :D
Gauls OP af, can confirm, but they did wear pants, cause here they were clearly caught with them down.
Killed by Gitarja on t35, in a conspiracy with a triggered camp. I think they did not read those comic strips.
