I completed Mahabodhi Temple after the woods tile it was on caught fire....

Great Lighthouse, requires a Lighthouse to be build.

Who ever came up with this idea?
Yo, dawg, I heard you like lighthouses so I built a lighthouse on your lighthouse. :mischief:

Only at turn 180 in my first Portugal game... Yields porn ! Especially loving the Mausoleum and Petra in side by side cities ;-)
Those yields are absolutely nuts, but oh my god I can't ignore how much that continent you're on looks like Europe. Even a little Great Britain off in the far west as well. It looks like somebody saw Europe once and tried to remake it. And Morocco in the south. The minimap doesn't disprove this too much either. The Aztec continent looks a little bit like Asia. This is of course ignoring the Great Gallic Desert :p.

Is this trap always supposed to be on fire? At a quick glance it almost looks like a flaming pentagram. But perhaps I watched too many heavy metal videos.

I wonder how such a trapped tile will look, if a Ley Line happens to spawn there after the improvement has been built already (...or do improvements get auto-removed in this case? Never joined HO that late to see...)

One day I'm gonna build Petra, Mausoleum, Chichen, Huey and St. Basil's in one city. It will be completely useless and inefficient but who cares!

So I just finished playing my first game as Portugal, which was also my first game with monopolies and corporations, since they had supposedly patched out the higher than expected tourism from monopolies. Turns out they didn't fix the underlying issue tho, and near the last few turns it was really down to the wire on whether I could get the exoplanet expedition to finish before I memed myself into an accidental culture victory. Alas, I got the achievement for winning as Portugal pop up in the corner, and the victory screen popped up. Oh well, I guess the game has declared I've won by... wait, DIPLOMACY???

So uhhhhhhh yeah. There were no emergencies active, the World Congress was far from meeting, so I was very confused, so I went to look at my scores... sure enough, I hadn't won in science or culture. Then I saw it. A volcano was erupting next to my Potala Palace for like the 4th time since I built it. Oh my god. It was giving me diplomatic victory points each time the volcano erupted.

update, for anyone coming back and seeing this: I was wrong, Potala isn't glitched. I just forgot I researched Global Warming Mitigation. My bad!

That's cool, Portugal hidden potential is diplomacy after all ;)

Nobody expects the Portuguese Diplomat!

My theory is that, when you have a city with barely a harbor, you won't immediately come up with a MASSIVE LIGHTHOUSE that will take ages and resources to build it. So you need forst a regular lighthouse.

Then your civilization think that this city is becoming a particulary efficient hub, with lots and lots of ships coming to it, then the government thinks: "Hey, maybe we'd need a bigger lighthouse in it, wouldn't we?"

You don't spend time and resources building a wonder in a city that (flavor-cise) won't benefit it. You need first to proove that the city, indeed, need a regular lighthouse that might be not enough to continue on the bigger lighthouse.

The year is 1490, 4 years before the Treaty of Tordesillas and Portugal Empire is all but recreated, with Feitorias representing the presence in allied civilizations and cities around the globe otherwise. Note the GNP is 10 times the world's Average. 14 competing major civs, zombies, corporations, 48 city states. Prince on Enormous TSL Earth.
