"Civ3 on Earth" succession game.

i'm sorry, i'm out of this game :(
I'm too busy right now with university, my work and my GF, i just dont have enough time to do these games
sorry for letting you waiting so long :(

If I recall, Germany attacked us during my last turn....unless we made peace and someone broke it since then....

I have seen this message even without RoP violation, if you attack a country without first declaring war diplomatically.

Meldor do you want to pickup where I left it?

Looks like the host I've put those pictures on is having technical difficulties...:(

I'm entering my last week of classes before finals, so i'm gonna be busy for the next couple weeks. Not sure how much P.T. i'll be able to get in. I'll let you guys know when I'm ready to play again.

I'm doing my finals too...so I've got tonnes of free time!

Preturn 540 AD - We have a lot of cities that have an excess of food, too many irrigated squares. Most of the cities are on coastlines and don't need to irrigate with a harbor in place. Rome is in this catagory. It is already at twelve, the extra food will just make the people unhappy due to overcrowding. I buy fuedalizm for our world map and switch Rome to Sun Tzu's (due in 26 turns). I start mining every square I can around Rome. Theology is due in 20 turns, I move science up and it is now due in 14.

1) 550 AD - More mining around Rome. Leipzig finishes the marketplace and starts on a Library, London finishes its marketplace and starts on a barracks. Egypt, Russia, England, China, India, France, Persia, and the Zulu all start on Sun Tzu's.

2) 560 AD - First mine completed at Rome shaves 2 turns off of AoW. Ravenna finishes Market starts Courthouse, Knossos finishes Tample starts Courthouse, Byzantuim finishes a warrior and starts a Temple.

3) 570 AD - Cumae finishes Market starts Courthouse, Neapolis finishes Aqueduct starts courthouse.

4) 580 AD - London finishes Rax and starts Courthouse, Thermopylae finiahes its Aqueduct and starts a Courthouse.

5) 590 AD - Berlin finishes a Cathedral and starts a courthouse, Pompeii finishes a Marketplace and starts a courthouse. Nottingham finishes a Temple and starts a courthouse.

6) 600 AD - Athens finishes its Marketplace and starts a Courthouse.

7) 610 AD - Meldor takes vacation. Nothing happens.

8) 620 AD - Lutetia finishes its Courthouse and starts a Marketplace. Leipzip finishes its Library and starts a Courthouse, Bristol finishes a Temple and starts an Aqueduct. Pisae finishes its Harbor and starts a Galley.

9) 630 AD - Meldor is please to announce that the Romans are the first to make it to the North Pole. The icey lands so inspire him that he names them Greenland. A settler and legionare land on a nice green island we name iceland. (You thought I was asleep at the whell this whole time, eh?) Cumae finishes Courthouse and starts a Library, Hispalis finishes Aqueduct starts Courthouse, Vircoconium finishes Temple starts Marketplace. Babylon decides to jion the party and start Sun Tzu's AoW.

10) 640 AD - Sparta finishes a Cathedral and starts a Courthouse. The goodie hut on Iceland is popped and found empty.

11) 650 AD - CaesarAugusta founded on Iceland starts Temple. Londonium finishes Courthouse and starts Library. Ravenna finishes courthouse and starts Libarary.

12) 660 AD - We finish Theology (No more Oracle) and start Education. Berlin finishes its Courthouse and starts a Library, Thermopylae finishes Courthouse and starts Library, Pisae finishes a Galley and starts a Marletplace.

13) 670 AD - Antium is started on the Sistine Chapel (due in 29 turns) There is excess food in Antium and worker will start mining there when finished with Rome. Palmyra founded on Iceland, starts warrior. Lutetia finishes Marketplace and starts Coloseum. Athens finishes Courthouse and starts Library.

14) 680 AD - Cumae finishes its Library and starts a Harbor. Pompeii finishes its Courthouse and starts a Harbor. The people decide to add a second floor to the palace.

15) 690 AD - Brundisium finishes Temple starts Marketplace. Japan, lowest of them all, finally starts Sun Tzu's.

16) 700 AD - Leipzig finishes its Courthouse and starts a Colosseum, Sparta finishes a Courthouse and starts a Colosseum. Opps, I guess Germany is lower than Japan as they jion the Sun Tzu race.

17) 710 AD - Londonium finishes its Library and starts a Colosseum, Ravenna finishes its Library and starts a Colosseum. Babylon, Egypt, China, and the Zulu all start Sistine.

18) 720 AD - Berlin finishes its Library and starts a Colosseum. The people are happy to add another floor to the palace. The French and Indians jion race for Sistine.

19) 730 AD - Thermopylae finishes Library and starts Colosseum, Cumae finishes its Harbor and starts Library. Neapolis finishes Courthouse and starts a Harbor. The people must love us as they top off the palace with a nice observatory and dome. Persia Starts the Sistine.

20) 740 AD - Goodie hut in Greenland popped for a local map. Athens finishes Library starts Colosseum. Veii finishes Courthouse and starts Colosseum, Nottingham finishes Courthouse and starts Aqueduct. Knossos finishes courthouse and starts worker.

21) 750 AD - HAD to take one more......We have Sun Tzu's and a RAX in every city on this continent. Rome is started on a Coloseum. Everyone else cascades to Sistine.

Notes: All of the cascades to the Sistine from Sun Tzu's puts them about 11 turns ahead of us as that is when most of them started Sistine. You should also note that I did not use the great leader that is in Rome. There are three ways I see to go from here.

1) We bet that we will finish Sistines ahead of them and they will have nothing to cascade to as we are on Eduction and one tech away from JS Bach's. There is also Leo's but no one has the Tech yet. We can then either use the leader to rush Bach's or Newton's

2) Use the leader to finish Sistine and let the cascade stop as no other wonder is available (make sure no one snuck in Inventiion or they will get Leo's). The best way to do this would be to have Antium switch to the palace, and rush build the Sistine in Rome. (This will save the shields already put towards the Sistine in Antium). Once Bach's is available, switch Antium to Bach's from palace and it will be ours. Also we can start a prebuild of the FP somewhere when it gets closer to snag Leo's if we want it.

3) Same as 1) except we ship the great leader over to the new world and rush an FP. There are two settlers and one escort onthe way there right now off of Greenland.

There is also one settler and escort on ship off the western coast of Africa. They can settle where you like, just pop the goodie huts along the way with the spear.

In summary, I spent a lot of time gettting us built up in infrastructure. Once we have Cathedrals in the cities we can start building Knights and go after Europe again. We are now in position to out produce all of them. Since we are currently the only ones that can travel sea squares we should make hay in the new world while eveyone else watches. Do not sell our maps to anyone until we have a firm hold on the new world. If it were up to me, I would risk losing Sistine knowing we have Bach's in the bag and ship the leader over to the new world to give us an expansion boost that no one else will be able to match over there.

Looks like it is just you and me Meldor till we can get some more players...

So we are now in the New World, can't wait to see what sort of civilisation exists over there!

When I get some time to...what with CS 1.4 being out and all :)

Well, I've finished school for the semester, so I'm ready to play. One problem: I've downloaded the new patch, so will I be able to play without reinstalling the old one? If not i'd be willing to maybe scrap this one and start another. We could be Rome again or what ever. Doesn't matter to me. Just interested to see how others feel about the subject.

As long as the new patch doesn't care about the old map size I think we will be OK, but I haven't checked it. We are still waiting for KoC to take a turn.

1 - I have played world maps started with 1.17 and switched to 1.21 without problems.

2 - KoC is a problem here - when the thread starter is late, what do you do?

2 issues.....

1) Do you want to join Lee?

2) If KoC doesn't respond....

I think you would be welcome and if KOC doesn't post within 24 Hrs, Waco Kid plays and we continue on.......

I will email KoC with a PROD.

I am overbooked in games right now.

The last thing I need is to add another.

Somehow the scenario file I used for this succession game was one that never had the accursed University/wonder bug in it!

Now I have been looking and have posted a request for a BIC editor/swapper.

Gramphos says he is working on one...for some reason University had been "tagged" with small wonder status and that leads to crashage due to civ3's excellent error checking -or lack of it!

I had played on about 10 turns before I crashed...maybe you won't.
