Civ4 BTS Patch v3.13 is up

Great patch, but please give us back the glance button! It worked very well for me, and people who don't use it don't have to. It is not in their way, or something.

I hope it will come back soon!

When I applied the patch it updated the CvGameCoreDll.dll for vanilla, Warlords and BTS.
It also updated two XML files in Warlords.
There may be more, but even one change will cause the protected assets error.

Here's a question for those more code savvy than I.

I am currently running a BTS PitBoss game

If I install the patch with PitBoss still running I 'think' that game would be unaffected until I restart PitBoss. Is this correct?

I've Windows XP and installing this patch the game crashes continuously...

it's normal?!?

It updated, or seemed to (and says "already right version" if I try to run it again), but it says still version 300 build from 21 September if I go to "about this build" inside the game.

I thought these dormant AI stacks setting up camp in my lands were supposed to be fixed? Napoleon doing it right now. Solver, please fix this again.

What is the 'glance' button? I never even knew about that.

What is the 'glance' button? I never even knew about that.

It is (or was :P) one of the tabs in the Foreign Advisor screen which allowed you to, "at a glance", see all the diplomacy values between each rival leader in a table. The table could be sorted by most-liked to most-disliked for any leader by clicking on the leader's icon.

Using this screen you could, for example, quickly see if a particular leader was the worst enemy of any other leaders. This appealed to many players.

I updated to 3.03 before installing 3.13, and apart from the slightly surreal reanimations, it worked fine. Now I can't load any of my old save games (made under the Next War Mod inc. in Bts). Is this something to do with protected assets, and if so, is there any workaround?

I also found that the wonders which previously required prerequisites (eg 4 cities with walls for the Great Wall) no longer require them. I didn't see any notice of this in the changelog, but I also haven't seen any complaints, so was this supposed to happen?

Apart from this the patch is looking good and I'm looking forward to learning how to deal with the improved AI.

best

Hmm, according to the civilopedia, the Great Wall requires only a city with walls (in contrast to, e.g. the Globe Theater, which requires a certain number of theaters). I don't remember if the Great Wall ever required 4 walls like you say, but if they changed it, they didn't change it for all the wonders.

I think Vince was just remembering that rule from a mod. Or maybe it used to be part of Next War. That rule has never been part of the main game, and seen it in at least one of the mods here on the forum.

I have lost the +culture indicator on my build screen mouseover, also!:( otherwise the patch is great!

I have a problem. The culture isn't showing for buildings when I put a build order. See attached screenshots. Is anyone else experiencing this?

I'm also having the same issue. Any building that produces culture won't display the amount per turn when you highlight the building in the queue.

Anybody else having this problem?

Combat animations fixed at last  :goodjob:

While I understand that this may annoy you, it is quite logical that these games will not load. The locked assets option is there to avoid changes to the code affecting your game (whether it is to avoid cheating or for other reasons). A patch does just that, it changes the game code.

As has already been mentioned and you acknowledged, the patch also updates non-BTS assets. Therefore any ongoing games when the patch is implemented will show the "Protected Assets" message.

When I applied the patch it updated the CvGameCoreDll.dll for vanilla, Warlords and BTS.
It also updated two XML files in Warlords.
There may be more, but even one change will cause the protected assets error.

Just changing the CvGameCoreDll.dll file will cause the "Protected Assets" message.

Just curious, but do you use Norton Internet Security, or some other type of security? Norton screws up my patching big time, so I either have to turn Norton off, or not use the in-game patcher.

ironically the first thing I clicked on in the Civilopedia after installing this patch was a mistake .. not sure if it had always been broken pre-patch, but one of the links for Artillery goes to the tech page when it should go to the unit page.

also I see they did not make a major bug fix in Final Frontier that I mentioned... boo
