With a little tweaking, those can be modified to resemble Ur-kai from Lords of the Ring to make one bad ass mod pack.
 
Wow... how long does a conversion take from start to finish. Might have to give it a try if it is noob friendly.

I feel like if we have a proper step-by-step tutorial using the new nexusbuddy you developed Deliverator we can populate Civ V with fresh/diverse units.

I would like to do that eventually, but creating tutorials takes time - particularly making them "noob friendly". At the moment I am investigating the possibility of writing new import code since the FBX -> GR2 function provided by Firaxis is really unstable and unreliable. If the tools and the processes involved are not reliable people will try to do stuff and give up in frustration. My goal is to make the process as painless and simple as possible before doing new tutorials.

I have been messing around with Blender and 3D modding for about 4 years now but before that I had no experience of 3D graphics whatsoever. Everything I've learned, I've learned from stuff on this forum, YouTube tutorials and elsewhere on the web. You can only make this stuff "noob friendly" to a point - if you want to learn you have to take on the learning curve and have a go. That said, I do think there could be better tutorials and introductions than already exist. The place to start is doing re-skins - I'll try and update my reskin tutorial soon.

Yes. That's because the underlying name of the unit is the same in both mods: UNIT_TEST_UNIT. This mod is not designed to be a gameplay mod - just showcase the graphics. I'm sure other modders will be putting these graphics into their mods soon given the shortage of fantasy units.
 
What did you use to create it? I'm interested in my own unit modelling for this game. Planning on making some more historical looking ancient/classical units. :)
