Civ6 and virtual LAN VPN's

I've scoured the internet and have not been able to find anyone that has managed to play Civ6 LAN games via any of the popular Virtual LAN solutions. I've tried Hamachi and RAdmin to know avail. All I've discovered is a statement that Civ6 requires a 192.168 series LAN address in the network adaptor. But even changing that in RAdmin, I was unable to get LAN to work. Anyone with wisdom here?
