What should they keep from previous chapters?
What shouls they discard?
(Dreaming is free)

Keep:
- Religion and policies (Civ 5)
- Unconventional Warfare (CTPs)
- Mixed armies (CTPs)
- Promotion System (Civ4+)

Discard:
- 1UPT. Pls not another Stall-fest.
- Combat is reduced to 1 number. Bring back Attack/Defense!
- Global happiness

About new stuff:
- Great stuff about tech research location boost, cities can grow over 1 tile. The district System.

They should keep a few things, and even bring back discarded things, but I'm hoping for a lot of overhauls too. I'd like civics from civ4... Strategic view from ciV (maybe that could be the cartoony graphics... Hopefully), large variety of map options (civ4), some sort of skill tree like order and what not from ciV (it's been a while since I've played).

I think combat needs an update. It's bland. I agree with more than just one stat. Make units more unique, not just infantry/calvary/etc., maybe even add customization. Speaking of which, civs need to be more unique, possibly even customizable. I found civ4 was a bit better than ciV in this aspect, but still not great. Honestly, Firaxis should look at their competition (Endless Legend, Gal Civs, etc.) in order to improve their own game. Not saying they should copy, but they should learn a few things from them.

Imagine combined social policies and civics, so that civics represented the way your government was running (as it realistically did in cIV) and social policies represented the values, social and cultural, as well as the way that your general civilization was organized (as it realistically did in ciV). And that way they can make rebellion/uprising more realistic, if your civics were incompatible with your social values.

As to combat, they probably will stick to one stat but hopefully not, especially with the new army system for units. Plus, if they stick with hexagon maps then they need to have defense, hexagon chokepoints were tedious without the ability to basically fort up.

Keep:
Faith mechanic
Trade Routes

Bring back:
Random Events
Health mechanic
Something more like the Civics system where the government type can be changed.

Discard:
Social Policies: Replace it with more in depth government building and decision making system. Social Policies are fine if they can be repealed. I'm truly hoping for something more immersive.
Beliefs: The build-your-own religion system is fun but always feels weird to me. Would like to see each religion with unique traits and/or benefits.
City States: I would rather compete against more civs than have one-city civs exist the entire length of the game. City States brought a new and different strategy but I don't really care to see them in Civ VI.

To Nobile Oblita: They have already confirmed that Global Happiness is off so that's one of your dreams fulfilled. :)

Yep dump the city states.....never ever used them and really felt that Civ5 was worst game for Greece Civ since traits had to do with city states which I never used...Please next time you want to do something that new in civ, dont force it on Greece..let us choose if we want to use the new thing with its goodies or use the good old way with its own goodies...
