Niklas said:I'm experiencing the same thing as bloh. I've just done a fresh Windows install (XP w SP2), .NET 1.1, and then CivAssist II. When trying to start CivAssist II I get (roughly, translation from Swedish by me):
The application has generated an exception that couldn't be handled.
Process-ID=0xd08 (3336), thread-ID=0x04 (3332)
Click OK if you want to exit the application.
Click Cancel if you want to debug the application.
I haven't had these problems before the Windows reinstall. I have no idea what's causing it. I'd be happy to supply any details you want, if there's anything you could do.

No - it doesn't modify the save files.
I would try a reinstall & repatching of Civ - you may have a graphics file corrupted, which would cause a crash.
Asking the same question on more than one thread is something which is frowned on around here...I also have a question, now that I am talking to a programmer. The reason that I looked into CivAssist II in the first place is that I was looking for something that basically does what "Shield Forest" does indeed do. Unfortunately, I am running a machine w/o adequate memory to run CivAssist with the game feasibly. Is it possible to modify the game to have a "Shield Forest" function in the game itself? Or is this something that is "hard-coded" and can't be accessed by anyone but the game programmers?
